    @mattgecko,
    I got my bed and under hood lights installed. For the money, this is one of the best mods you can do to any truck. Thanks so much!

    where do you tap power for the LED lights ? I want to install them inside my new (to me) camper shell. Do i need to run a +12V wire from the engine bay to the bed or is there a easier way ?

    @mattgecko , I just spent all my extra funds on wheels and tires, but i want to hit you up about a couple of 12" strips in warm white. I'm hoping they can be used on my AMP Powersteps in place of the shitty ones they supply.

    Sending more tape seems to be the easy fix. I stall cannot get mine to stick, makes me sick I bought it

    I don't know why your lights will not stick, your welcome to send the hood light kit back for a refund.

    I will have to wait until my hand is out of a cast and I can use it again to remove things. That was the main problem to begin with, the light strip came with the factory glue that you state screws it up (if it does then remove it and stop having the customers remove it). Then when trying to remove the glue and put the new on was a major pain in my ass with one hand and I asked myself why I paid that much for a light with known issues on the factory glue while I am in a garage in 115 degree weather

    Yes sometimes the glue fails, I sent replacement tape and offered to give you a full refund. It takes two hands to apply the tape correctly!

    The light kit would work but not having the tie down rails to mount the lights to, the light will not spread as perfectly.

    My engine lights wouldn’t stick with the new tape either. So what I ended up doing is using 3m panel and moulding tape (it’s a couple mm thick and the exact width as the light strip) and 3m adhesion promoter wipes to prep the metal. It’s on there good!! My bed lights are mostly stuck...there are a couple 1” sections that are not adhering. My advice is to get the 3m adhesion promoter wipes off Amazon. I had some Velcro strips for my bed rug that wouldn’t stick no matter what. Finally I used some of the adhesion promoter wipes it came with and it worked! I should have prepped my bed rails with that first.

    I washed and dried my under hood where this was going first and it was plenty dry when I started applying. Then trying to remove the adhesive I messed up the light strip and I am out a hood light now

    The old adhesive will come off the light and hood with a little goof off. Then get a roll of 3m panel tape and stick it to the light. It’s very inexpensive and it will stay on forever.

    Or are you saying the light strip physically broke during removal?

    I screwed up the light strip. I have one hand in a cast which did not help but I had no choice

    Hi @mattgecko, I am thinking about doing this mod in the future. Any chance I could get a copy of the install guide to see what I'm getting into? Also curious what the cost of having just lights on the sides of my 6.5' bed would cost (toolbox mounted in front). Thanks!!

    Received the hood and bed lights and got them installed this evening. I had an issue with one strip and Matt made it right even though it was likely my fault. The kit is awesome and the customer service even better.

    Buy these kits with confidence - they’re legit

    Behind the black strip is the correct place, the hood not being perfectly flat is inconvenient. For drooping where the 3M tape just isn't holding it you can use a dab of clear 100% silicone (bath / window silicone).
