****Please do not attempt this on DOT tires that see pavement. Off Highway only repairs****

@COMiamiFan and I had a pretty good time Jeeping the other day until I got a little hairy legged and ripped a sidewall on a tree. This pretty much brought on the suck driving out on a flat 40" tire and caused some significant damage to the tire and beadlock ring.:D

I was just going to put the beadlock ring in a lathe and take off a "smidgen", but it just isn't worth it anymore. On my next tire purchase, new beadlock rings will be purchased. I cleaned the ring up as much as I could, and this looks 100% better than the before shots.

I have already done one of these repairs on another tire, and has worked flawlessly.

Here is a video of the process:

I'll update this when I finally get this completed.

Hrrrrrmmmm. I didn’t know you could do that. Talk to me about durability and such if the repair. Is it as durable as the surrounding rubber? Is it as hard? Is it going to peel when it’s abraded?

I haven’t had any issues with other tires when rubbing up on rocks with excessive throttle.

Most older people remember hot vulcanizing.

    And I wait....

This is the primer before mixing the two compounds. 4F715BD5-C4C1-4563-90DC-919BE835C2BC.jpg

Rubber installed, now wait for 24 hours @ 70*F OT higher. In my case, the garage will need to be heated.

After the cure process, I’m sure some of the rubber will need to be ground down to fit the beadlock ring.

Holds 25 psi and the weight of the Jeep.

    On to the next tire....
