    After going deer hunting this past season, and adding so many "desert racing stripes" to my truck, it nearly brought me to tears. My detail shop spent 3 days ($450) buffing them out so my truck would look like a road princess again. I was determined to not to have to do that again. I desert run quite frequently, but want to keep my truck looking pretty.

    My internet search was near fruitless, being most items were made for the Jeep world. I wanted something removable and reusable. This is what we came up with. they suggested several mats for ease of placement but also better coverage. They are magnetic and I will have them colored black. They will be pricey tho... $600 bucks. But after paying $450 for buffing them, they will pay for themselves after 1 trip.

    Back in my dragstrip days we would use blue painters tape behind the tires to protect any good paint jobs from the hot rubber. Just blue tape the shit out of the entire truck LOL

    Seems like a lot of work to avoid the inevitable. Ever seen the movie about the kid who lived in a giant bubble so nothing could happen to him?

    Maybe there’s a Tundra version.

    I dont think it will be that much work.. less then 10 minutes to install. I like a functional truck, but also like looking good as well. All trucks I have ever owned have been pampered but abused on the weekends. She deserves to look pretty after the thrashing she gets on any given weekend.

    That’s great! I’ve been looking for some like this for the Tundra. Even considered making some myself. Goat Armor makes a nice one for the Tacoma but hasn’t made one for the tundra yet. What speeds have you used them at? Have you used them in the field yet?

    Looks like Goat Armor finally came out with the Tundra Version. I’ll report back once I have it installed and have used it a bit. This is the one I ordered.
