I'm taking my truck in for the zero point calibration in a couple weeks. They said it wouldn't be an issue to go up to 275/70/18 from 275/65/18 afterwards. Now I'm thinking about getting 285/70 instead. Anybody know if that will cause it to need to get done again?

Nah. I wouldn't worry about it unless you went with a true 35" or larger

Cool, then I don't have to rush to get the tires. What about adding a couple cb shims? Probably just one to get rid of the drivers side lean. That I should do before hand, I think.

Hey Sean, do you know anyone that is running nitto exo grapplers? I'm just going to get them before the calibration. Harrisdoggy on here just got them on his truck. But he hasn't had enough time to put them to the test. He's got 285/70/18 and they look awesome! I'm really close to pulling the trigger on them. But it would be great to hear how they do once they're down to half the tread. I hate spending all that money, then halfway through you've crappy tires with tons of tread.

How do they hold up? Are they good on snow and ice? That and the odd size is why I'm leaning towards the exos. The 285/70/18 is 11.50x34, should be perfect for the 2.5 lift and stock trd wheels. I stopped at discount and the guy thought they'd fit with no issues.

I have 295/70/18 and have not done the zero point calibration. My truck seems to drive fine without it.

So, then it's not necessary to do it? A couple guys on here think it is and my trucks vsc seems to be more sensitive after the lift. Sean, with the s/c you probably have the darned nanny turned off anyway.

You're overthiking this. Just get bigger tires and go from there

I'm an over thinker too. I just try to take my own advice. Usually works out for the best.

When you change the level of your truck, the truck gets confused and triggers the traction control. You can recalibrate after adding a lift or level.

I haven't done it, just read it researching whether I would need to. But looks like it can be done with techstream. And I think I read you can do it manually. @cdkenne ?

Yeah, mine went crazy each time I did anything with the lift for like the first mile or so then settled down. I have only put a few miles on it since the bigger tires went on. I'm gonna wait and see how it does before taking it in. But will probably just get it done for peace of mind if it acts weird at all. This is the first truck I've ever had with nannies. My 2000 tundra didn't have any that stuff so I'm not used to it. The first couple times I had to floor it pulling out of weird spots and it cut the thottle I was like...what the f!? It was totally stock then and I don't want it to be even more sensitive. We'll see, with a few more miles, what effect having the center of gravity close to four inches higher has.
