So you just remove the intake side of the pump and route it up into the engine compartment?

Why do I only see SAIP bypass kits for up to 2012 then after that everyone's keeping the pump functional and just relocating the intakes?

Doing a bypass is a federal emissions violation which can lead to huge fines. Relocating the intake fixes the issue of water getting into the pump that creates the failure.

@sdhq_offroad Finally was able to get this kit. Took about 1 1/2 hours. Clean install. Good insurance having the kit and still legal. The supplied parts are top notch. Glad I did it!

To clarify, this is more for preventative or after you already had the AIP issue resolved correct?

I currently have a p2442 code and dealer said the air pump and air switching valves are caput (truck is currently in limp mode). So if I install this without replacing the pump/valve, it wouldn't solve the issue?

Nope, won't solve the issue. Like you said, it's a preventative measure.

So is it worth going that route then relocating?

For me it was past the point of relocation one of the valves stuck open put the truck in limp mode
The bypass saved me at least a couple grand
