Yeah boys. Been busy with lots of hand jobs. Haven’t tooled on the truck in months other than checking vital fluids, wash/wax, etc.

Ordered up some OEM DENSO spark plugs and some Seafoam Spray Treatment (top end carbon clean) prior to the upcoming oil change.

Also, ordered up some Lucas gear oil for the rear diff to provide the tech with when he does the rear wheel bearings. The bearings noise is driving me nuts and will hopefully be getting them done in a few weeks.

The 02’ engine/transmission has been purring. The suspension work performed last year is holding nicely. Made a good decision on keeping the truck, in retrospect.

Glad to see new members here keeping the 1st Gens alive. Been seeing quite a few in the area I’ve been frequenting lately. After reading 50 pages or so here since my last visit, I’ll post this link which may be helpful and answer some questions/observations some of you had. Stoked!

Those tires look great on your truck. Now you just need to drop 50 bucks on some new eBay headlights. It shaves 10 years off the look of your truck.

I actually like the OEM from single cabs, they don't have the gaudy chrome bars. If you do have the chrome bars then go Paramount or similar.

I was considering a paramount when I eventually build a bumper but I'll probably get a grille off a single cab instead. I like the look.

Yeah but no one warns you about the shitty reflectors and the hot spots they cause in your light output

Ah. Heck my AC limited don't have chrome either, thankfully. But I hacked it up for my current billet grill.

It’s been a wile since I’ve had a chance to work on my Toyota but I got one side of my rock sliders built today. All the pipes are 3/16 wall and welded to the frame and bumper.

Yeah. I bought some made in China specials about 6 years back. They came as headlights, side markers, and included lamp bulbs for $50! The bulbs didn’t have much output, so the hot spots (if there were any) didn’t reveal themselves.

Those AKKKONS (Taiwan) on Big Gurll seem to be a good deal so far for around $115 (no bulbs included). Matched up with Katanas LED’s and they are pretty nice.

Installed SS brakes lines front and rear. Bled the system. Pedal feels like shit so I bled the system again. The pedal still feels horrible.

    Next steps?

Does it seem to have good pressure when you open the bleeder? I’ve seen several master cylinders go bad when you start to bleed an older system.

I've driven a few of these trucks, and the brake pedal is always terrible. do you have ABS?

The pedal feels slightly worse than before. More mushy.I did the prop valve twice.

Do you mean the pedal?my wife was doing the pumping while I opened the bleeder. I didn't get out nearly as much fluid as I anticipated though.

Agreed, the pedal has never been great. I'll take it on a longer test drive tomorrow to see how it feels. I have deactivated ABS.

Is it possible I still have some air in the lines?

did you have a brake line disconnected for very long? I had to be very careful when I blew a brake line that I capped it right away otherwise it drains the master cylinder.

I paid ~$150 for just headlight housings and I have the "ultimate headlight upgrade" with 95w h4's and I like how bright it is and it does pretty well. But the stock reflector was much more uniform. It's just my lenses were so far gone.
