Transponder? Like the "black box" that records pre-accident vehicle data?

Not sure what a transponder is or used for.

You are probably looking for a CAN twisted pair. I've never tried hooking up an aftermarket RES to anything with an immobilizer. Are you using a hide a key box or a programmable bypass? Are you running a hood pin or using the factory hood switch?

I can try to find more info in the morning. I think what you're looking for is the ring around the key cylinder?

    Yes sir,
I've got all the wires figured out and connected ... And I m hooking up the Dball2 bypass for the Bulldog deluxe 500 remote starter . I've found the Imobilizer around the key cylinder but not sure if it is the right Transponder . I m using the hood switch from the remote starter kit not the Toyota's ones
The 2 wires I m looking for are the TXCT and CODE ( the installation manual stated 7 wires plug but I saw the immobilized on my truck has only 6 wires )...
    Thank you in advance !

I've found the locations of the High and Low CAN ,SIL wires at the OBD II connector and the keysense at the body ECU ,white 10 plug .
But have not figured out the 2 wires as mention earlier ( TXCT & CODE ) to completed installation and programming the DBALL2
( the DBALL2 has been flashed with all the right firmware )
    Thanks

It looks like the transponder key ecu sits behind the vent bezel to the left of the stereo. I hope this helps. I'm having problems tracking down the immobiliser wiring diagram.

I'm about to undertake installing my own remote start. I think I'm going with a Crime Stoppers unit with a Fortin (Evo All) bypass.

My question: where did you put the two modules? Looks like the wires come from multiple locations so doesn't seem to be an optimal space.

Also, I haven't ordered the bypass yet, can you program the DBALL2 yourself without buying anything else or were you forced to go to a dealer?

There are lot of spaces above and behind the upper brakes pedal bracket ,that's where I put my 2 modules taped together as it is close to the fuse box and easy to run all the wires from there plus it has several holes where you can secured the 2 modules with some plastic ties. Most of the wires needed for installation are located in the steering columm and the fuse box within the driver kick panel .

As for the bypass I like the Xpress Dball2 (with this bypass you wont have to leave a key inside and it is very simple installations with about 5 to 9 wire connections for most vehicle ) . To do it yourself you would have to buy the XKLoader II
( Bought mine from Walmart.com for $27 ,free shipping ) to flash the bypass before installation ,or if you could bring it to any remote starter shop or BestBuy and they will flash it for you and most of them will charge about $40 to 45 .I like to purchased mine as I will have that XKloader available for future uses.
You can go to directechs.com to register and access their site for the specific wire locations with pictures for your vehicle ,then when comes to flash it you can choose whatever options to install in the bypass itself .

Make sure to take your time read all the info and connect all the wires correctly before attempting to initiating both modules ,they should be done in sequenced .
First ... most of them you will need to initiated your remote starter unit to work/recognized the transmitter
Second ... initiate the bypass for the first time to programmed it to your vehicle and then you're done...

It sounds a lot but if ,after read and understand the instructions on both unit ,you will see that so easy . I've done 5 remote starter installations for my own and my family's ,most of them only took me about 2 to 3 hours labor but the reading part always took double that .
I like to use the brand Bulldog Deluxe 500 as this unit will give you a lot more options : long range, reliable ,checking the temp- inside vehicle, programmable cold start, roll up/down windows ,sunroof and popping the trunk ,etc ...

If you choosed to installed and happened to run into problems with that Dball2 , PS me and I will try my best to help ...

Thanks, I ended up going with the Fortin Evo-Key Bypass Module, it only takes 2 wires from the truck!

Thanks for the info, I feel pretty confident, I'm an engineer and have done quite a few electronic projects in the past.

Oh wow, just looked at the installation instructions for the Crime Stoppers kit and they are massively lacking. This might be a huge headache.

I recommend www.the12volt.com for wiring colors and locations. They have charts for remote start, alarm, stereo, etc...

Thanks. I did already find that, still trying to find a visual diagram so I don't make any mistakes. Their chart is a little vague, gives location but not connector ID.

Which connector are you having issues with? And what year and trim level?

@Nor7 If you are referring to your 2011 4.6, here is the power source diagram including the ignition switch.

Thanks, this helps some. On page 1, where is that connector? Or is that the fuse box under the hood?

    I have 2011 SR5 4.6L Texas Edition

Question: What components are absolutely necessary. I assume the ignition, door locks and OEM alarm but the dome lights?

    I struck gold. www.wirecolor.com

If you buy a bypass module from Fortin you get a password to unlock one vehicle. This has everything i was looking for.
