It all depends on the customer. Prices vary. Some customers on contract can turn in a hundred torque wrenches at a time. Their repair pricing would be different than an individual item. Repairs are quoted once the wrench is run thru cal, unless it is obviously broken. It's hard to charge a flat rate because the are a bazillion torque wrench mfrs out there of various quality. I good example are DMM's. "Digital Mulitmeters". Some cheap ass DMM's cost $5. Our Agilent 3458A lab std DMM costs around $10K+. All repairs are done on a case by case effort. Torque wrench repair costs aren't all over the place. Like I said, we can determine if a repair is cost effective. Many times we will tell a customer to just scrap it. BER...Beyond Economical Repair.

I have two SnapOn torque wrenches that get used about once a month. Both have been checked by the local SnapOn guy for free and are pretty much on the money.
If you really need your wrench recalibrated send to: www.teamtorque.com
My guy say's cost varies but will be north of $50 and south of $100.

Team Torque guys are great. We utilize Team Torque from time to time to repair torque testers and some older tools that parts are next to impossible to get anymore. Our CDI Sure Test Torque calibrator crapped out one week before our ACLASS audit at the AMCS Anchorage Lab where I was the quality manager. Was next to impossible locating a replacement. Literally. Team Torque sold one of their spares. Overnighted it and saved the day. $50 to $100 is pretty much spot on for typical wrench repairs . Cheaper wrenches also have a cheap ass internal slip block (non-hardened steel unlike Snap-On or TDI wrenches) that gets rounded edges fairly quick with heavy usage rendering them pretty much worthless. If you compare a Snap-On slip block to a off brand slip block it's night and day. Our torque guru just showed me the difference between slip blocks. According to him, Tekton uses non hardened internal slip blocks. Fair warning.

Our torque guru John. Cal Lab Magazine is published out of our Denver Lab. The publishers, Mike and Sita Schwartz, both good friends of mine, have their business, Cal Lab Solutions, right here in our facility.
