Sorry guys I been away from this site for a while. Bought a boat earlier this year and been busy fishing.

I got a 1993 Boston whaler 19' outrage. I love the boat but I'm already thinking about upgrading to a 20-22'er. Wanted to know if anyone else is towing a boat around on a regular basis and if so how big?

How much weight is the boat your looking at?

How much is your current boat and how does the Pro tow it in your opinion?

My current boat is about 4,500 pounds, once I add the gas, motor...etc to it. The Pro tows it like its nothing.

I would like to either get a Boston whaler 208 adventure, a Boston whaler 220 seafarer or a defiance 220 admiral...I think the biggest will be around 5,500-6,000 pounds.

I fish pretty regularly, hauling an average 80 miles a trip...all my money goes to gas...

21ft pontoon loaded and gassed for the lake weighs in at about 3,000 But, it sits like a giant parachute behind the truck. As one would expect, Tundra handles it with ease...crosswinds suck though

Sea Hunt BX22BR, weighs 4000 to 4500 lbs I think...my 2016 Limited 5.7 pulls it with no problem at all. The first two times I pulled it I used the tow/haul switch, but don't use it anymore because it doesn't seem to need it...at least here on the coast.

Nice boat fellas. I do miss living by some body of water. We have ponds in CO.

The Tundra should have no issues at all with those weights. When you start getting into the 8k lb range is when you really notice it. Under that, the Tundra makes quick work of it with decent fuel economy. I like to compare my buddies 16' F-150 EB and his mileage. 7-8 mpg where I was getting 9-9.5 mpg.

I haven't pushed the Tundra towing yet but I do like your choice in boats.

Got a 19' Outrage sitting under my carport that I purchased to replace my old 18' Outrage. I still miss my 13' sport with the 50hp Yamaha that I sold a few years ago.

I have an 18' Four Winns that runs about 3500 - 4000 lbs. Usually I have another 1k lbs loaded in the boat and bed when we go to the lake and most of the time I forget its behind me lol.

I towed 3 tons of decorative rock (what we put in our front yards instead of that green stuff here in AZ) last year on a twin axle trailer. Total it was about 8500 - 9000 lbs and the truck pulled it like a champ.

Last year Whaler made the old style so it says 19' but it is identical to the 18' it replaced except for the console and no wood trim. I am almost sure it is 1991.

I can agree with you on the crosswinds! Pulled about the same length pontoon boat down an open highway on the way to the lake on a windy day and it was not fun at all..

I could probably tow this with a Corolla with no problems, but here is our first boat. Looking to get something bigger in due time, but it's a blast nonetheless.

I know it says Pro but I have the full TRD Pro suspension. She tows great at 60MPH. Faster then that or when getting into mountain passes makes me think of 4.88 gears.

007.jpg Pull a 4700 lb rig 500 miles round trip 6-7 times a year. 20' center console w/T-top. I have 560 lbs on the tongue. Tundra pulls it like a dream. Avg around 9½-10 MPG @ 65-70 MPH.

Whaler's are amazing, I bought my kids a 130 Sport with a 40hp Merc and that thing scoots, even at our elevation.

We don't own anything that can tow our family boat as it requires a semi to pull - but I will say this in regards to upgrading your size as I learned this through three "upgrades". Don't look at this next upgrade, look at where you think you may want to be 5+ years from now and skip the interim as you'll save bucks and time. Boaters always seem to get 3 foot-itis, and almost always end up buying 2, 3 or 4 boats until they get to where they want. If finances allow - skip the middle itis's and save yourself a lot of boat bucks in the mid to long run.

Laguna Madre and Baffin Bay, no doubt. King Ranch shoreline? I launch out of Port Aransas and hang around that area and out to the oil rigs for king, ling and snapper. Of course mine doesn't go real shallow, but if my little brother ever gets his boat fixed, we'll use it on the flats.
