Maybe? I was always taught that something is worth exactly what someone else is willing to pay on the day you want rid of it. It comes down to financing. My buddy tried to sell his RAM dually for 2 months. His business is across the street from the RAM dealership. EVERYONE wanted it but couldn't get financed. He traded it in on his new truck. The dealer sold it 3 days later for $2500 more than he was asking privately.

 

OP, are you asking if the collective believes you can get $24,000 in a private cash sale? Or if you can get $24,000 of trade in value at a Toyota dealership?

Not likely. The hottest truck market is in this part of the country. I was able to get a dealer certified 3rd gen crew cab with 75K for about that much before taxes and registration and only paid the dealer a doc fee. Albeit no platinum but had the Texas edition upgrade and factory leather seats. Never hurts to try though if it's an area where people want the 4 wheel drive option. I notice it seems to add about 3K to a gen3. Run it on KBB and just see. It's normally close.

 

It’s a tough price range for a used vehicle. Im in the same boat.

It’s too old for the average financing buyer, but its too new expensive for cash buyers.
