    Hi everyone,

New to the forum! I drive a 2016 Black SR5 TSS. I'm interested in changing my chrome bumper ends and grille to black "chrome", not matte, or do whatever it is that makes it the same color as the vehicle. I'm not sure about this process. I've read on the forum where people have used plastidip or gotten vinyl wrap. Is vinyl wrap the way to go? Or are there parts that can be purchased that can change out the bumper caps to a black "chrome" finish. I've also considered purchasing the TRD grille. Would like to hear everyone's thoughts!

    Thank you!

Plastidip not being permanent, I went with paint on my grille. Took it off the truck, pressure washed the chrome off, spayed on adhesion promoter, sprayed on self etching primer, sprayed on color matched paint from automotivetouchup.com.

Rear bumper: I took off all the plastic and and popper out the sensors. Sanded with 60 grit to take off the shine. Masked off truck. Sprayed with low texture bedliner from rattle can. Oh yeah, put in auxiliary back up lights and relocate your trailer harness into the bumper!

Sorry, I can't remember the brand. It was nothing fancy, just a regular rattle can off the shelf at the auto parts store. It's certainly not very textured. I had some roll on liner that I used on some rock sliders once that had actual chunks of rubber in in. This is nothing like that at all. I'd say that it's pretty much orange peel texture.

You can do what Dave did (looking' good Dave!) or contact @Roman at Toyota of Cool Springs who can hook you up with the grill, hood bulge and bumper ends that you want/need to murder it out! He can get them painted to match. Cheers!
