We’ve personally been running the CF-80 in my wife’s Tundra for 3 years. Absolute game changer for camping. No more worrying about where and when we’re gonna find ice. Plus the space savings is huge for our compact packing style.

My CFX65W has never let me down. Been running constantly since November and has been in temps from 9 degrees to over 90!

I had an ARB in a vehicle before and the Dometic fridge is much more efficient and never fails to maintain proper temp

    DOMETIC PLB40
    Powerful: 40Ah/500Wh capacity
    Safe: Battery Management System
Simple: Charge with your vehicle, home or solar

The Dometic PLB40 has powerful, integrated Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery cells, providing an energy supply of 40Ah/512 Wh. Ideal for powered coolers and other 12 V appliances while on adventures, the PLB40 provides a weekend of power or longer for a Dometic CFX on a single charge. The integrated DC-DC charger offers three convenient ways to charge via: the vehicle's 12 V DC socket, a solar panel or AC home power. The battery’s integrated Battery Management System protects the PLB40 from under-voltage, over-voltage, short circuiting and overheating for optimum charge time, performance and storage. With this power management system, the Dometic PLB40 has a cycle of life up to four times longer than more commonly used lithium ion batteries.

This is a really well packaged PLB. I like the portability of this over our hard-mounted solution. Since it has a built in BMS, I assume you can charge this directly off the alternator, say through a wired ACR instead of just a cig lighter socket?

We include a 12v power adaptor that connects directly to the PLB40. This goes to a cig lighter socket. You can certainly charge off the alternator through an ACR if you have the right connection for the power adaptor.

but because i drive too fast off road now i have to get a smaller one to put in the cab because food and adult beverages get tossed around too much in the way back of the truck.

CFX 65 and loving it. Not only does it work great for trips but it also comes in handy for left over lunches during the week at work.

No more ice and no more soggy food because of zip lock bags leaking.

When unexpected guests drop by your van to say hello—it always pays off to have your CFX fully stocked with drinks and snacks to offer, or in this case some fresh carrots.

It happens before you know it. He’s a little person now. It’s amazing. Well anyway tepuifest is awesome. We have had an amazing time the past 2 years and met great people. We went up Thursday and camped.about a 1/2 mile from the Tepui area. We had the whole place to ourselves like 30 sites. Friday we got in line and found our spot at the Tepui place. You can’t beat it for $90 you get dinner and breakfast for three ish days and all the beer you can drink. The people are great. There was a little organized off roading but you could hit the trails on your own. The blind driver competition was fun. You drive blindfolded while your partner takes you through a course. It was a great time and we will go again next year if you are interested.

Thanks for the update on K. I’ll look at going next year, based on your review. But hope I don’t have to wait that long to see y’all again.
