What's up y'all. Been lurking for awhile and finally pulled the trigger on buying a new-to-me 2017 Tundra SR5 Double Cab TSS Edition. I live in Austin, TX and had been driving a 2008 Nissan Frontier for the past 8 years. I work in the architectural/design/build industry and often used the Frontier to make deliveries out to the field with building supplies. I'm an avid back-country hiker/camper and have spent many months on the trails and needed something that would get me to some of the more remote locations that my RWD Frontier just wasn't capable of reaching.

The Tundra is a major improvement in every regard aside from fuel efficiency, which was expected. What wasn't expected was how much I'd fall for this truck! The amount of forethought and design intent put into this truck continues to blow my mind even a month after purchase.

Just for fun, I'm listing some of my favorite features that have shown to be improvements from my Frontier:

    -Better turn radius

    -Hydraulic hood hinges

    -Hydraulic tailgate hinges

-Automatic Bluetooth connection with my phone/music streaming (no more Scott Elder commercials!)

    -Cavernous storage compartments

    -Ultra smooth transmission shifting

-No more cam issues (had to replace the sensors on the Frontier a couple times, with the crammed engine compartment it was a chore which brings me to...)

-Ample work space inside the engine compartment

-Customizability and general aesthetics (these things just look good)

The only feature I wish it came with is a manual switch for locking rear differential. The auto-lock seems interesting but I have no experience with it yet so any stories or tips would be appreciated.

I'm pleased with my purchase and looking forward to many years of use. I'll make another post of my build but I'm attaching a picture of what mine looked like on day 1.
