Edit: chose the cig lighter. Initially I had a problem. But user error. Didn’t have the switch on “key” on the BD. Works now.

Good Morning, I am waiting on a Bully dog GT - Platinum tuner to arrive soon, and am preparing for the installation...

I get all of the need to be on a charger, download tunes, update..etc (conceptually).

Where I am falling short - is what fuse is recommended for the "tap" to get switched power for the tuner?

Is there one on the "inside" fuse panel...or do I need to go to the firewall and go to the Main fuse box?

    ant pictures would be appreciated....thanks!

That’s up to you...You need to look on the underside of the fuse lid and it will give you an idea of what each fuse is powering...post a pic of the underside of that lid and we can help you based on your needs

Some of the fuses are powered once the ignition is on, some are powered when lights get turned on, some are 30 amp, some are 15 amp, many options under there to consider...the most common, is labeled IGN for ignition, meaning it gets powers once the key is in the truck, that’s likely the one you’ll want, but I dunno the specifics of your tuner

I’m assuming your tuner only needs power once your key is in the truck and I also assume it doesn’t need very much power, prolly less than 1 amp. I would go with # 5 or 27, if my above assumptions are correct.

Sure. Maybe somebody else will chime in who has a tuner and can tell you exactly which one they tapped. At the end of the day, this is no risk, if you incorrectly tap a fuse that doesn’t behave the way you’d like, move on to the next...
