Depends...If you're in a state that provides a tax credit you might not be much ahead if selling private party such as in this scenario.

Are there financial benefits to trading my vehicle in on my purchase with Arizona Car Sales?
Yes. In the state of Arizona, you get what amounts to a *8.30% tax credit when you trade your vehicle with the dealer you buy from.

Assume the Taco is getting $35K (made up number) for trade-in, after the tax credit you're getting $37,905. That's an extra $2,905 that you wouldn't get selling private party. You can probably get a bit more selling private party, but will it be much more than $3K to make it worth the hassle?

Hahaha....I now see this was an old thread brought back to life and the OP has already gotten himself the Tundra . I just spent a few minutes of my life typing the above comment that I will never get back to post to a thread that has already been resolved.

If you are losing your shirt on the deal and the tundra will truly only cost an extra $25 a month with no additional up front costs.....do it !!! and don't looks back. Its is a much better truck overall. Only two downsides is slightly worse MPG and it's big size can be tight on some trails and city driving/parking.

Trading my taco for a tundra was something I do not regret even a little
