Joined this forum today and lurking around for the moment. Currently I'm at Tacomaworld withe the same username. Kind of on a crossroads with my Tacoma. It's a great truck, but I'm looking at maybe getting a 2006 or 2013 tundra have not decided. The Tacoma is a great truck but way too small for our long road trips, we travel and camp light so space is not an issue. The issue is my 2 growing boys are cramped in the back seat.

My son is will be ready to start driving soon and would like to pass down the Tacoma or wife's idea get him a safer modern car. Or sell it, arghhh I don't think I can do it.

The only thing about tundra I feel it will be way too big for my small stature. I'm only 5'5" on a good day. Anyway I'm looking at the different configuration and seeing how much I'm willing to spend. I like the idea of getting 5.7 V8.

Glad to be here, I'm hopefully to contribute once I get the tundra knowledge. :)

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

There is a tundra in carmax been on my radar for the last couple of months and they reduced the price to 31k, I think it was at 33k.

I'm going to a look at it sometime this week. Kelly book is about that range. I should hold it but not sure if I can make the date I commit to. It's a little above my price range but it has low mileage and the color like. Don't like the beige interior.

Wells thanks for hearing me out. Also not really not in a rush to purchase since I don't have a family trips planned until next year spring.

That's the link if you want to take a look.

    I am likin' what I'm seein'.

Thing about these Tundras is, they really hold their value well.

However, my way of thinking, that is EXACTLY how a person should buy a truck: you're getting a Platinum at a reasonable price with extremely low miles.

    Hell, it's brand stinking new!

If you want it, I'd figure how much I'd want to give for it, go in, and tell them, "This is what I'll give for it and not a penny more."

I don't think they're going to take a lot off it, but they'll come down some.

The good news for you is, since you have time, you can just watch for one in the price range you want to pay and eventually [not often] a better than average deal will come along.

Like those one owner vehicles though.

Be willing to walk and making your mind up before-hand about what you are willing to pay gives you the upper hand in the negotiation because it forces the finance guy/decision maker to ask himself, "Do I want this guy to walk?"

    Welcome from Missouri.:hattip:
