    Hello all,

    I just wanted to say that since I have been researching a new (to me) Tundra, I always end up here on a search and am very impressed with the knowledge and helpfulness. I am picking up my very first Tundra this Friday, a 2017 Crewmax and I am super excited because I already know I will love it. For the most part the budget just hasn't been there for a newer 5.7 Tundra and I have been waiting for the stars to align. I am a (vintage) Land Cruiser guy and have a few of them, but what I NEED is a truck to get the work done, and part of that is hauling Land Cruisers around. My former truck was and '03 F350 diesel which was a great truck but miles were high AND it was really getting rusty. I can handle one of those issues but both got me deciding it was time to move up. I have some big plans for the truck as money allows. It will haul vehicles long distance, snowmobiles, work materials, and be a camp rig/mild off road rig so it has a lot of boxes to check off. I think it will work really well.

    Thanks! Glad to be here. I guess I should have thought to post a picture, even though the truck is in Colorado and I am in Michigan. Oddly enough, I am picking it up in San Antonio because that is where my buddy is trading it in and picking up his new one.

    Couple more- the hzj73 is a project truck getting a 12h-t turbo diesel. The 60 is almost done- 12h-t diesel, 5 speed, cable lockers. I had a rendering done of what it will look like.

    @Navi , I am planning to keep it. I sold my old 2f gasser '84 fj60 to a friend when I found the 12h-t/5 speed combo for sale. Picked up a blown motor fj60 in CO and started the frame off. Adam Tolman "Box Rocket" did the render. He was just getting into it when I asked if he'd do one for me. It was a really cheap motivator to keep at it. My build thread is on the ih8mud forum

    I would do the same thing but i had to ask. it’s gonna be great when you have it rolling.

    I had an FJ60 that i drove and loved for over 15 years but stupidly sold it.

    ih8mud is a great forum. hope you’ll post updates as you progress thru the build
