New guy with old truck

Good morning, I am new to this forum. I have a 2000 Tundra Limited TRD with 270k+ miles. I recently purchased a 2006 4runner to use as my primary vehicle, so I will now be able to make some repairs and modifications to the Tundra that I always wanted but never wanted to pay someone else to do! I have already gained some confidence in my ability to do some of my desired projects from this forum. Looking forward to participating and thanks in advance for the advice!

As for repairs, the first thing I need to do is fix the hole in my driver side exhaust manifold where the upstream O2 sensor used to be. The sensor was stuck and I enlisted my nephew to help me remove it. He got it out but the threads stayed in. He took it to a shop to see if they could tap out the hole. They ended up removing the left front axle to try to get the tap in there. They were not successful and said the next step was to remove the manifold, weld over the old hole, drill a new one and spot weld the new sensor in. I was not ready to go that route, so they put it all back together. They liked my nephew and only charged him (me) $85, so I have no complaints about them.

I would like to install headers but it is an old truck and headers are expensive, so not sure I am going to do that. I would like to know what others have done.

The brakes also need some work and I would like to beef up the suspension. Maybe a 2" lift, nothing major.

I am pretty attached to this truck. My first Toyota was a 1990 4Runner 4x4. I put 240k on it until an oil leak went unnoticed. I was halfway across the Lake Ponchartrain bridge (which is quite long) when the light came on. There was no way I was stopping on the bridge and figured I could make it to the next station, but the damage was done. I had the engine rebuilt but it just did not work the same after that. I have been careful to avoid situations like that with this Tundra and would like to squeeze every possible mile out of it!
