Just joined this forum today. I'm getting ready to possibly buy a used 2015 2WD CrewMax SR5. It has 38k miles on it. Has the 5.7 V8 iforce engine. I'm getting rid of a 2012 RAM 5.7 Hemi. I'm so hoping that the Tundra 5.7 V8 will last a lot longer than the Hemi I've got. Any issues with this engine I should know about before I buy this truck?

Right about now, I'm thinking anything is better than the hemi. They fly down the road, but the quality of the hemi sucks. After doing a lot of research on a lot of different trucks, I've decided the Tundra is the one I want. Mainly because 3 guys that work for us all have Toyota Trucks. One has a 2004 tacoma and has 230k miles on his (4 cylinder). Another guy has a 2008 Tundra with the V-6. He's got 183k on his. The 3rd guy has a 2013 Tundra and he has 180k on his V8. I've always known Toyota was a good vehicle. I'm hoping that the 5.7 I'm wanting to get will last a long as my guys trucks do.

Bottom line....How reliable is the 5.7 V8 Iforce engine?

Will know tomorrow if I will get it. Going to look at it. Already talked to the dealer about trading my truck. The truck I want is at another dealer location and they are supposed to bring it to the dealer I went to today...tomorrow. Hopefully its in as good of shape as it looks on the internet.

My first tundra was a 5.7. 2WD and it lasted me for 15yrs, it was a double cab, i had to get more room since my kids started growing, or else I would still have it.
    They are very reliable, IMHO.
Good luck when you go to check it out.
Show us pics when you get it.

Go Astros  One thing I was surprised to find out when I looked at this truck, is it had some kind of an aftermarket exhaust. It's not real loud, but man...does it sound good when I step on the gas! LOL The dealer also said he thought it had a leveling kit on it as well. All I know is it looks great and I love it!

Don't trust anything a salesman or dealer says. LOL. It may have a leveling kit, hard to tell from pics. If anything is in question have your mechanic or someone knowlegable take a look at it.
It does look really nice though. Verify values on NADA and KBB.
