Whats everybody running for their rtt’s? Just wanna get some ideas on what y’all have and pros and cons. I’m particularly looking at: CVT, iKamper, and Roofnest. For myself just looking for comfortability and easy setup, which all three seem to be all of that. I guess the biggest visual difference are the hard shells vs soft. Thanks in advance for any one who chimes in!

If I were solo no brainer would run a hard shell. Pricey but easier setup take down. I run the 23Zero for the family. Love it.

Exactly^^ really wanted a hardshell but with the kids and wife it wasnt really an option (within my price range anyways). Went with a Tepui Kukenam3 on my bamf low-pro rack20190819_192902.jpg 20190819_192454.jpg 20190830_143145.jpg

Tepui Ayer 2. My friend has a hard shell tent. Expensive and part of the shell cracked the first time he opened it.

I also have the Tepui Ayer 2. I love it for the price. Only 95lbs, got it new for under $1k, and can set it up in less than 5 minutes. Can even install/remove it from the truck solo. If money was no object, I'd probably have a GFC hard shell, but I think mine probably airs out better and is certainly lighter. Hard shells go up and down faster, but how much faster than <5 minutes do you really need?

Solid feedback y’all. I’m liking the soft tents. CVT is running a 30% off sale until Sunday. I’m soooo close to just spending the extra coin on one of their bigger setups. 30% just has a nice ring LOL

Invest in a CVT Summit series. The upgrade is worth it.

Def think so myself. They’re out of stock in the summit that I want tho, so maybe hybrid? It’s basically the same upgrade right? From what I gathered. They’re website is kind glitchy and has too much flash involved so it makes browsing annoying haha. That or there’s just a lot of web traffic. I’ll prob just call them when I’m ready to pull the trigger though!

Not sure about the Hybrid. We have a Mt Shasta Summit. I had other brands and CVT seems to have the best quality and customer service. Just call them if you have questions. Their employees are very friendly and helpful whether on the phone or in person.

I'm running a Silverwing RTT from Costco. They go on a sale every now and then. I believe sale price is 1699.00 shipped 1999.00 regular price. Super fast setup and take down.

I really was looking hard at the Ikamper and Roofnest. The problem is Roofnest will warranty replaceable parts, but they will not take returns due to the likelihood of shipping damage. The Silverwing is returnable to any Costco. Anyways, I thought I'd try the hard side at a less expensive option and see how it worked for us. Been great so far with only a few drawbacks (being RTT's in general). If I went any other way, I'd probably go with a Tepui since it's only a few hours drive from me to their Santa Cruz facility.
    Good Luck

Ha I used to have an ARB awning with enclosure that we'd put cots in. I called it the bear bento box.
