Hooked mine up today, took just about an hour. I already have seat covers. They work great! Under the dash was a fuse panel with fuse marked "heated seats" 20a fuse, used an add on fuse tap ran the power wires to there and ground to under driver kick panel.

You can get seat heaters with Katzkin leather seat covers. I haven't owned them myself, but I have had seat time in a few vehicles that did, and they are pretty good. You might be able to buy the heaters if you already got the leather.

I’m using these, they have gaps for the rod/hog rings holding your seat down. You don’t need the new hog rings provided, zip ties work well and fit inside the groove, you don’t feel either anyway.

I put the switches on either side of the center console near the front and tapped the fuse box for power. The tap that comes with these are usually just a cheap hook.

2 panels each seat, so you need to buy two.

Although they don’t have open sections for connecting the rods at the seams, note Berdine’s example has more coverage higher up the back and toward the knees, that might mean more to you.

I have seen some postings regarding after market seat heaters being installed on cloth seats. Is that ok? how does the fabric hold up?

So wait, I thought these warmers go under the seat fabric? Did you adhere them to the surface and THEN add seat covers? I am about to install a set of Rostras this weekend and would like to know if this “on-top-of-seat-surface” method is okay? Do they stay in place and does the adhesive mess up the fabric at all? Thanks, looks like a far easier install if they work right and don’t destroy the original uphulstry. Any input appreciated!

Given enough time, it’ll probably mark the cloth seat whether by heat cycles and/or moisture going around the rectangular piece from above. It’s just less noticeable installed under the OEM seat but more work. To be honest I’d do the same thing if I was using covers, just put the heaters over top the existing ones.

They're double sided tape on them to keep to seet bottom/back. I have no issues with mine under the seat covers

I haven’t looked to see if the heaters did anything to factory seats under the seat covers, but I bet not. Even they did, they are covered up with covers. Made the install easy and they don’t slide around.

Ok thank you all for the feedback. Food for thought. Do you all do this because the original cloth plus seat covers is too thick to feel the heater? In other words, if I put the warmers under the uphulstry and THEN add seat covers, the heat never gets through both layers?

I did it because of laziness. If you add it under the factory seat cover, you’ll still feel it, just would take longer to heat up at first.

I have the kit from clazzio. I love it. If you have seat covers a good Tip is stick the seat heater to the seat covers, not the seat. That way no chance of the adhesive messing up the seat fabric.

I’ve installed many seat heaters. They are for sure designed to go under the seat covers and not sit on top. They are also normally installed under leather seats but work great with cloth covers too.
On Tundra’s the switch that I use is round and it can be installed in the center console forward or back as the pics show or you can install them in the side panel of the seat itself.

I had a dealer install this set in my TRD PRO when I bought it in 2017. They put the switches in exactly the same place. I also add put heaters in the rear seats. They must have some sort of pressure switch in the seat pad because they don't start providing heat unless you're sitting on it. I guess that's a good idea in aces which is left on accidentally as there's no timer.
