I think i have narrowed down my choice of running board based on looks and price. I am leaning toward the ds2 but not sure how far the steps protude (offering protection from door dings), anyone have these and can comment?

The hd2 look like a "safer" choice but not as visually appealing....

Anything else i should be looking at in the ballpark of $300?

    thanks

I saw the DS2s on a Tundra today and they looked really good.

Inhave the hd2s, really like them, they are slippery when it's wet or snowing. They have alot of adjustability in the mounts, like how far tucked under or out you want them. right now i have them sticking out to the wheels

I got the DS2s, didn't see these others. Looks like they my be more functional. But it would appear that the step for the DS2 is lower than the other.

I have the DS2 and like them. However, I don't use the steps - I am tall so it is easier for me to just step straight into the truck. I have seen with others who use the steps (wife, mother-in-law etc.) they sometimes have to look for exactly where it is because they are not very big - especially getting out of the truck. The HD2 will be easier to use in that regards. HD2 might be better for door dings also. However, I wanted something different than a standard pipe or platform - I liked the idea of the individual steps just for looks.
As Moon Puppy has said, the DS2 steps are lower and more functional. By the time you reach up to the HD2 steps you can just as well step over them into the truck. I know when my MIL was visiting (for 3 months!) she would have had a hard time reaching those getting in, but getting out it would have been easier to find, although still a high step down from there.

They are well made and heavy/solid for the price.

Thanks for all the input!! The steps arent really for but the wife so those are good points about the height of the steps.... I dont think i can go wrong with either as both look great but my wife has had a couple knee surgeries and a practical step is probably needed.

    Appreciate you guys!!

That's why I went with the hd2's. Needed better ones for my 8 and 3 yr old. They do sit closer to the body vs the cheap ebay ones i had on there before. Noticed when I went to get out the first time, haha. But my 3 yr old can climb right in now no problem up into his seat. Lifted 3" with 35s also.

    Thanks!

Not sure where you are located but I may be interested in taking them off your hands if you haven’t sold them yet.

I’m starting to really like these. Someone said you have to buy the iron cross brackets separately for them to tuck in close and that when you order they just come with universal brackets. Got any more pics? Yours been holding up well? I think I am between the patriots, HD2, DS2, and some Amazon Oredo faux rock sliders

Both will do you well.. Tough choices... Big fan of Nfab, close and tight to the rocker panels..

HD2s look real "Janky" like something off a 1970s van.
DS2s of the two I would grab.
