All this reminds me of opening a bottle of superglue. It’s always junk the next time you need it. At least with the old style superglue. I get lucky with some of the newer stuff. Once it’s introduced to air it starts the activation process.

Its definitely not an issue with how you stored it. The product is complete junk and will end up looking like that, then eventually crystallize. People have reported receiving brand new orders and it looked like you're fresh off delivery.
Jump on social media, email him, make a stink out of it because you should get your money back. I ended up doing a PayPal dispute for my refund.
Scott claims that none of the bottles he has stored every had this issue but it is widespread amongst consumers.
Many of his fans continue to back him through all of this. Even guys with separated or crystallized bottles, say it was still worth the price tag even though they ended up throwing out half the bottle. Their solution to the issue is to make sure you use up the whole bottle within a couple days of receiving it, and bam problem solved. Lol what a bunch of idiots.
I hope you get your money back. Keep on it and you'll end up getting it back. Whatever you do, don't back down

DPC shield is a terrible product that fails to meet any of its description. Scott is aware of the problems with it and refuses to even acknowledge that their is a problem.
I wanna tell everyone who will listen to STAY AWAY FROM DPC AND LUXURY MICROFIBER they are scammers

This is the response I got from one email

"Once opened, we don’t know how long it will last, some customers have it opened for 6 months and it’s okay and some have it hardening in 2 days. It depends on temperature, humidity, exposure to air heat etc

All professional grade coatings like shield work the same way."

What a load of crap. A few guys were have told me that carpro cquartz lasts over a year opened and some have had it on their shelf for 2+ years.

Such variations on usability after opening goes to show how shitty of a formulation the coating was made with.

I had a bottle of Cquartz stay in my cabinet for 5 months after using it, before I found it again  Needless to say the product was not affected by this and application was as if I had just opened the bottle new.

Did they give you a refund?
I got an email from them today, trying to get me to try a new product. I fucking snapped and returned a hate filled email addressing my purchase and experience with shield. They immediately responded and told me that they refunded me and everyone else who has had bad experiences with shield. Total bullshit, they didn't choose to refund me, they were forced to do so thru my PayPal dispute. What a load of crap. I had to spend weeks with emails to and from PayPal, send pics, receipts, AND PAY RETURN SHIPPING to return the crap. Finally by default (DPC never responded to the PayPal claim) so I won the dispute by default. That's when I got my money back, but I'm still out the $15 ish in return shipping and all my time.
I really hope your refund goes easier than mine.

If he still doesn't refund you, do a credit card or PayPal dispute, he won't even acknowledge it, but you will win the case by default and get your money back. This guy is a complete asshole

Emailed him and challenged him on his claim he has refunded all unhappy customers. Will he do the right thing for you? We shall see. I am relentless in my pursuit to stop scammers and people who rip off and steal other hard earned money and time. I won't let this go even though technically I got my money back. It wasn't by his choice, he was forced to do so by not replying to my PayPal claim. I'm very curious if he backs up his claim that he is refunding unhappy customers now. My guess is no and that he full of shit but I'll see where my last email to him takes us

I am relentless Steve, you know me, I may have got my money back but I'm gonna make an example of this arrogant dick and help everyone else out that I can.

Also Steve, just so you know. That opened bottle or cquartz, or crystal serum that is still in perfect condition on your shelf after being opened a year ago....its useless, won't offer any protection or gloss. How do I know this? Cuz scott told me just a few minutes ago. He said that other products may not crystallize, but once opened, they are no good after a short time. Hahahaha. What a load or crap he is feeding me. He actually said that.

You're so right. He mentions other coating is every email. And will not address the problems that have come up with his coating. He went on to tell me how awesome he is for making videos for people to watch. And how other coating manufacturers probably have terrible customer service too, and don't care about their customers at all. I explained that in fact, almost every detailing company has gone above and beyond to help out myself and my friends(yeah all you tundras.com people are my "friends" lol).
I think his poor service is actually an exception from the norm in a flooded detaling market. He didn't seem to believe me, or want to believe me.

First of all, I will agree with him that he HAS in the past put in some really hard work making videos and educating people. I won’t take that away from him. When I first got into detailing, I watched a ton of his videos. He absolutely 100% made a lot of effort to help people and teach us, with no compensation for it. He really did do a great service to many of us novices.

He was probably the best out there as far as helping people find cheaper and easier ways to do things. His niche was all about helping people save money and effort. His reviews of products were completely objective and honest. He did always come across as arrogant, but I can give credit where it’s due. Unfortunately, you can watch his mindset change once he started marketing his own stuff.

My first hint was when he blasted Meguair’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax. He went off about it being a scam, saying the product was no good and falsely advertised. I knew that was untrue. I’d used it, and read many other reviews, and that stuff is a fantastic product that’s one of the cheapest on the market.

Where he absolutely loses me in that email is when he says “the big companies do not entertain or put out videos to educate”. That’s 100% false. They almost all do. Maybe a lot of them aren’t doing “entertainment”, but pretty much all of them have videos to educate us. To be fair, most of those guys are centered around their own stuff, but that’s to be expected.
I do know that even Chemical Guys, supposedly the biggest whores in the industry, have great and informative videos where they aren’t overtly pushing their products. Their videos on polishing with a DA are the ones I most share with people who ask how to do it. They mention their products as far as what they are using, but they only focus on teaching technique.

The Rag Company puts out two Podcasts a week that are both entertaining and informative. Their “Thursday Q&A” is one of my favorite things to listen to. Their YouTube videos are great also. They do mostly focus on what they sell, but are also not afraid to recommend something they don’t if they think it’s a better option. Their podcast is where I first heard about Shine Supply.

He definitely has the right to make money, but the first step to that is building confidence in his brand, even if he has to eat some profit on occasion. Mistakes get made. Sometimes things are released to the market with flaws that need to be corrected. I wouldn’t hold that against him, especially since he’s new to it. He just has to fix his mindset to understand that every business screws up, it’s the ones who do everything they can to make it right that excel.

I can’t name another detailing company I’ve dealt with that wouldn’t immediately do whatever they can within reason to make things right.

Customer service is my livelihood. In twenty years in this business, I’ve always done everything I could to make things right for a customer, even when it’s not our fault. One hard lesson to learn is that no matter how right you are, you’re never going to win against a customer. I don’t agree with “the customer is always right”, but if they are unhappy and take their business elsewhere, you’ve lost in the long run.
Another thing I’ve learned is that a happy customer may tell a few people about his experience, but an unhappy one will tell everybody. Unless a customer is being extremely unreasonable, or a total dick, I’m going to help them out in any way I can. I’ve taken back plenty of stuff that the customer screwed up, but I warranty it anyway. Refusing a $100.00 refund can end up costing you thousands.

Did you get refunded. He replied to my email this morning and said he refunded you. I'm curious. I doubt he would contact you to let you know. He is too much of a coward, check your PayPal or credit card and let me know.

I included very similar comments in one email to him. Because I too believe that at one time, he was a great resource and super helpful for a lot of ppl, myself included. But it all fell apart when he started pushing his own line, and in turn bashed other brands, something no other detail companies do.
I obviously thought highly of him at some point to buy from him, and I did let him know that. I also let him know how i feel now lol

So Scott claims that his customer service is as good or better than any other detailing companies out there. He even went to far to say that not one company would even acknowledge an email for help or assistance or answer questions. As we all know this is not true. The detailing world is flooded with people that will bend over backwards to serve their customer base, we have all experienced this. For example I order a new griots G9 polisher last week on a pre order, they also had some great sales at the time that I wanted to take advantage of. I checked my order online since it's been a while with no shipping updates, it said "backordered" ad the status, so I sent an email to autogeek to get more details on my order. Within hours I received a response from Marquez a customer service rep at AG. He said that they won't have the G9s in stock til early October, so that is why my order hasn't shipped yet and is marked as backordered. He then offered to send everything else today if I needed it. Even though when I purchased everything it specifically said in order to get the discount and free gifts it all had to ship at once from AG. He said that they will ship me any part of my order by the end of today, no extra charge and no forfeiture of gifts. I declined because I really don't need any of the stuff right now or even next week. And Scott tells me that no detailing companies are helpful or will go out of their way to make consumers happy. I wonder what he would think about my Autogeek experience.

Any word on your refund @Ckpetrone ?

I have had nothing but great experience with AG and PBMC in general. And I think detailedimage is even better believe it or not. I have had similar positive interactions with smaller companies like the rag company, optimum, shine supply, skys the limit carpro, waxaddict and even meguiars. These guys want your business and will do whatever it takes to get you to come back again, no matter how big or small they may be, the customer experience is always top notch.

All he had to do was send me a new bottle and I would still have used the product if I am being honest. I like the amount I can put on and so far I don't have any issues with it after it has been put on. Of course I still have time to see how it last.

The thing is my first email should have had a response of yes this is a problem but I sent out a new bottle the minute I received your message. Seem like we have a issue but at this time are working on fixing it and your new bottle is on the way.

I would have been like great thanks for the help. Nope all I got was yea it went bad did you read the warranty.... WTF. That's it did I read the GD warranty? Now i get a refund of $25 pretty sure I paid close to $50 I think. I could careless about the refund but if I am getting A refund then it should be the whole thing not half of the cost.

I was just very disppointed because this was a easy fix. When I ceramic coat a car I chrgae about $300 that's paint correction and all which is dirt cheap but I like doing it. I have had a customer complain about water spots and was ready to put in 5 hours worth of work for something that was 100 percent his fault. But I want customers so if I suck up this 5 hours of extra work I could get paid back down the road with referrals. This guy is basically fuck you I don't stand behind my product a 100percent on 50 percent

    Guess what guys and gals?

Remember that email where scott said he refunded the money to customers whom where unhappy with Shield? Including a member here @Ckpetrone . Well it turns out that he lied. Yes I know it's hard to believe but he lied, AGAIN. He credited @Ckpetrone $25 back to the payment method, not the full $39.99 that the shield cost this customer, not to mention shipping fees. I am growing tired of bashing Scott, DPC, luxury microfiber, Dallas paint correction, and floors & stuff (whatever that is), but I think I have to do everything in my power to help out other that were scammed. I feel awful that I at one time i recommended this product to anyone, so I will keep spreading the word to stay away from him at all costs.

I'm not sure how to tag or link or whatever people do with the # or @ symbols to link up with internet searches, so if anyone will do that here I'd be appreciative. I want this thread to be what people see when they search for his products.
