I'm currently in the market for a tundra. The truck will be used as an every day driver and occasionally to tow various things (eventually a Tacoma trail toy) so I'd like to get the teams cooler.

I've found an sr5 at a great price but as far as I understand that doesn't come stock with the cooler, only the Off Road model does. 1. Is this right? 2. Has anyone looked into adding the cooler on to an sr5 model? I'd assume they use the same transmission so the connections should be there and just be plugged in my mind..??

The cooler comes with Tundras that have the tow package and I think it is integrated into the radiator. You should investigate further because I believe it is not as easy as just hooking up two lines to the tranny.

I know a trans cooler is a separate cooler from the radiator. That's why I was guessing it's just be a matter of adding lines and the cooler. I ask because on tacomas the Off Road package has a "tow package" it it only really includes the 7pin connector, it doesn't have the cooler

My 2008 SR5 has the tow package and showed up with discrete transmission and power steering coolers mounted on the passenger side.
