I agree completely. I was surprised just how weak the 4.0 seemed. Even against the 3.5 in the Highlander, it seems so weak. Maybe its just the drive by wire programming. I've read that the pedal commander makes a ton of difference in the 4 runner.

Somewhat the same way in the 14 plus Tundra. It would shift way to quickly into second gear. I drove on S as well. Now it has learned what I like and I just mash the gas.... :)

I love our 4runner. It is a dog though. But hopefully after the 4.88's this weekend it will be alot better!!!:)

    It's not a dog. It's just that it's not a 5.7L v8 with a 4.30 rear end. :)

I test drove a 2019 brand new limited 4runner, it has enough getup and go for me, i think we are all used to our V8 tundras power, they're both in a different class of vehicles. I felt the power was just fine in the 4runner, if i get one i would keep it completely stock except armor and better tires for offroading other than that i loved it. My wife loved it too but it feels cramped with our big ass carseat, she loves the lexus RX350 though and that thing is smooth on the road with a little bit more room and lots of class.

My wife likes em, due to the fact that her eldest son and his wife have one, for her, it would suit her fine, I like em as well, currently she has a 2010 Buick Lacrosse, we take good care of it, it just reached the 100,000 mile mark, she know I want the 2020 PRO, she's thinking summer next year for a 4runner
