Some walnut leaves & twigs blew on my new '19 Tundra TRD Sport Crewmax (Super White) and left a yellowish-brown stain. You cannot feel the stain, but I can find nothing that will take it off. I've tried rubbing compound, clay bar, amonia & alcohol.

Try white vinegar mixed with water and little dish soap. I would try that solution with a Magic Eraser.

Buffer and some rubbing compound? But yes don't use a magic eraser.

Same happened on our 4 runner, buffing wheel on a drill and Meguairs buffing compound. Works like a charm. Magic eraser sort of worked.... took a lot of effort for minimal results

All but I found out magic eraser is like using 2000 grit wet sand paper it can be harmful to clear coat.

8000 grit sand paper with soap and water. Then with a wax compound.

I wonder if CarPro Spotless or Bug or Tar remover would work. I probably try something like that before going at it with anything abrasive. @War Machine

I’ve had very good luck with Claybar. But what works surprisingly well is Maguires cleaner wax. I keep that stuff on hand just for stuff like that. Especially on white trucks.

I suggest getting your truck immaculate and laying down a nice sealant or wax. Many here like to use iron X and nano skin to prep their paint. I’m old fashion and just give it a good wash followed up with a Claybar. And I’ve grown to really like Maguires tech 2.0 wax/sealant.

I doubt Spotless will. It doesn’t really do much in my experience.

Try vinegar or goo gone. If that doesn’t work then move up to clay or polish.

Barkeeper’s friend will Clean damned near anything, but I don’t know if it’s safe on paint.

Funny you say that. Just this week I was getting a little bummed out that my CeramicPro coated truck was starting to feel a little rough to the touch. It’s been on about s year and the truck stays outside. Still beads nicely, especially after the Beadmaker, but I could see some contamination and some mineral marks, especially on the flat inlay part of the hood. (I think that was from the experiment I did with my CR Spotless when it got to 4 ppm and I didn’t listen to you!).

In any event, I hit it with CarPro Spotless a few times and worked it in, and it looks fantastic. Night and day and it now feed like glass again. Maybe I can snap some pics of some treated and untreated surfaces to compare. I also did a section with Iron X. I got very little purple, so I assume the contamination was limited to water marks.

The places I did Spotless on versus just Iron X are night and day. I am now sold on the Spoltess. The key was a few treatments, letting it soak in, and really working it in with a MF. Obviously no sun, and perfect temp of 65 or so.

I asked the shop who did my coating if I could also do a very mild claybar on the coating for some other debris. He wasn’t wild about it and prefers topical solutions, but he said the coating won’t be effected by claybar, assuming the technique is appropriate and use lots of lubrication.

I havent tried spotless yet but recently got some. From everything I had researched you are right, let it soak a little bit, but be sure it doesnt dry, then spray a little more and work it in "vigorously", then rinse it clean before it dries. I will be trying it on my glass first, then my roof. Thats where I have water spot issues.

Once I use that on my glass, I plan to clay it with griots glass clay, then polish with carpro ceriglass with CP rayon pads with my new G9 DA whenever it shows up. My glass isnt horrible but needs to be freshened up before winter

Yeah, I like that approach. I haven’t touched my glass yet other than Besdmaker. I didn’t put much pressure on the rag with the Spotless but did let it soak in, then hit it with another shot to lube up the rag before wiping. When I rinsed the water layered off like a thing of beauty. I certainly wouldn’t use this stuff in any sun or warm weather and the truck has to be cool of course.

We have some water spot issues on the hatch of our GX, especially the Windows, now that I think of it. Depending on the weather I will hit it with some Spotless tomorrow and hopefully be able to post pics.

It may be that I didn’t use it correctly, but I haven’t gotten that result. I certainly didn’t let it work in at all. It’s pretty hot here, which may have also been the case. I’ve had more success with vinegar than with Spotless.

I think I know the answer, but vinegar won’t harm ceramic coating right?

Update: I used Spotless on my glass hatch on our SUV this morning. It did not work well at all. I am sure if I used multiple applications and really worked it in it would ultimately work, but I am assuming there are much better products out there for glass. Conclusion: I like Spotless for paint, but not glass.

There’s a product called Optimum MDR that I have, but haven’t tried. It came as a free gift with something. Maybe I’ll see how it does.

Put some Hydrogen Peroxide on the spot (get at Walgreens for $1.50) and sprinkle some baby powder on it.
The baby powder creates a poultice that will suck the stain out. I do this when I get leave stains on my travertine, works great and its safe.

The Optimum MDR does work better than Spotless in my opinion. I haven’t used it on a vehicle but I just got some serious hard water buildup on my shower that has been giving me hell.

Then, just for science, I put some on a black pad and used my Griots DA to clean my granite bathroom counter with it. There were some water spots on there that nothing has made a dent in for years. It took them right off.

I hate walnuts. We grew them and your hands were always black that didn't wash off for days. Glad we grow wheat now, 1200 miles away.
