If the interior lighting control rocker switch is set to the off position (on/door/off), should the footwell light remain off when the door is opened?

On my 2016 SR5, the footwell light comes on with the interior light switch off

Foot light always comes on in my 17 regardless of the switch being on or off

Thanks for the replies. I would have thought that, with the interior light switch being set to the off position, all interior lights would be off when the doors are opened.

Nope. Light stays on regardless of switch position.

I would say toyota really messed up our interior lighting. First off it sucks. Had to replace with LEDs. Also foot lighting is 1 tiny light bulb. Just lame.

It does leave a little to be desired, however I generally like all lights off, unless I need to see something and turn a switch on. I found it odd that the footwell light osnt controlled by the interior light switch.

Yes agreed. Like I said Toyota gone and messed up bad with interior in Tundra. Switches and controls are so basic. For the price they charge it should be better. But they are cheep bean counters when it comes to interior. Also their logic is goofy at times.

I dont really mind the simple rocker switches, but agree that the logic doesnt really make sense at times. The HVAC controls are another. There is a power button to turn the system off, but you have to adjust the fan speed to turn the system on. Why can't the off switch be an on/off switch?
