    Hey guys new person here,
So I have a problem with the lights on my radio and HVAC displays, I'm not sure if it's a setting or a blown fuse but I can't find the answer or issue anywhere. When I first got my truck the radio and lights had an automatic day/night mode, then I got into an accident, and when I got my truck back it seems my radio only has day mode now. I did have an aftermarket system (2K watts, just sub and amp) but the radio is stock. I noticed the people who worked on my truck managed to blow a 250 amp fuse (how??). I dont know if that has to do with anything tho. Anyways, during the night when my back up screen comes on its blinding bright and I cant see anything. I'm not asking on how to adjust the brightness, I'm saying it used to go into night mode and you could see just fine. I've also noticed that when I turn on my headlights, the HVAC lights are super dim and the lights on the buttons on the radio does not come on at all. Dealership was no help as they updated my radio after I brought up the issue and they even told me that the 2016 1749 does the same thing my truck does that when you turn on the headlights everything stays bright as day and the lights on the radio doesnt come on (not sure if the dude was bs'ing me but kinda sounded like he was). Attached is a picture of my radio with headlights on. Someone help me please as this issue is getting in my last nerves.

Good luck with this. My bet is a wiring issue. I'm hoping the body shop replaced the blown 250A fuse with the correct one. Electrical things are not easy nor fun to find. I'm sure your dealer could find whats going on, might not be cheap to search for a needle in a hay stack ya know?
    Best of luck!

Start your truck and make sure the headlights are on, find the display icon on your radio and click it. You should see at the bottom of the screen it says day mode with a check box. If checked, uncheck it.

On my 2018, the headlights must be on to see the day mode checkbox
