    @Casper421 :yes:

    That looks like a great campsite. What part of CA is that?

    This one easily moved into my top 5 favorite camping spots. It’s somewhere in the Tahoe NF. ;)

    @Casper421 ...Really cool setup for camping in bear country. I'm an avid fly fisherman and lakes are a favorite of mine, as is the solitude I can often find there late in the season. A tad bit jealous, now that I am too old for the camping aspect. Oh I could definitely climb in that tent, but getting out and down is no longer assured.:pout:

    Yep. Camped at milton but fished jackson, webber, lake of the woods, and Independence. Did you go to sawmill or did you camp on one of the creeks?

    Yah there are some really cool campsites along canyon creek. Can't beat sleeping next to a Creek or a river.

    Just be mindful when in canyon country that one should be very careful when choosing a campsite alongside a creek or river due to flash floods coming from upstream. The weather may be benign where you are, yet experiencing a torrential downpour many miles upstream. I believe this to be the Number 1 cause of death and/or injury to campers. Number 2 cause of death and/or injury while camping may well be watching Ellen Degenerate videos on a portable DVD player. Or not.:poking:

    Yeah that's not going to happen around there. It's just called Canyon Creek you're not socked in at the bottom of a steep narrow Canyon. All of the surrounding Lakes are also not the type where they are can even let out massive amounts of water at any time. They're all just small High Mountain Lakes.

    Flash floods aren’t something to be worried about in CA. Unfortunately, we haven’t had a drop of rain in about 4 months and probably won’t for another 2. I’m taking a 2 week road trip through Utah in October and flash flooding will definitely be a possibility. Claims multiple lives each year there.

    I do recall, about 32 years ago, a flash flood happening in a small creek near Santa Margarita and the damage it did along its path. Though rare, they do in fact occur. My earlier advice was for canyon country in general and not specific to Calif. By all means, camp where you like, but be mindful of mother nature's ways.:deadhorse:

    2002 Tundra picked it up from the original owner for $1000 with 193,000 on the clock now has 213 and some change. He got caught in a blizzard on I-70 which started a huge pileup and the truck was hit hard on the drivers side and rear end. Had to replace front fender, front driver side axle, along with many other suspension parts. Drivers side wheel was completely tore off. It seems like the frame was spared and drives pretty straight down the highway. I found an old pic, thats my son wrenching on it and taking out all of the broken parts. You can kind of see how far the fender and bumper were pushed in.Forgot to mention the original owner just had the timing belt/water pump changed a few months before the accident so that saved me a few bucks.

    Any plans for a double cab roof rack? I know you have them for access cabs and Sequoias.

    It’s in the works. I know it’s slow going but to keep prototyping cost down. It takes time.
