I am planning on buying a set of 18” trd pro wheels for my 2019 sport which currently has 20” stock wheels. Do I need new tpms sensors? Any feed back would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,Dave

Nope, they should be able to move over your sensors from the old wheels to the new ones. The steel wheels have a different sensor, otherwise they work on all rims.

Ok, thanks! I might be buying the wheels today, and want to make sure. The Toyota parts rep told me I would probably have to buy new sensors going from the 20’s to 18’s. And they’re $100 each!

Also be careful of them hitting you up for an extended warranty on those wheels (sarcasm alert).

Speaking of extended warranty. I’m in the process of purchasing the 2019 sport. Of course they pushed the 7 year warranty for $2200, I declined but can still add it. Any thoughts on that?

Absolute waste of money. Never purchase extended warranty on a newer Toyota or Lexus product. CONSUMER REPORT and all independent research/data collection types advise heavily against...Germany made vehicle all day long.

I've had 7 new-from-the-dealer Toyotas. I have never bought the extended warranty. I have never wished I had bought the extended warranty.

My 1997 T100 4WD truck has 262,000 miles on it and other than the radiator 4 years ago not a darn thing in those miles and that time that would have been extended warranty worthy.

Wow! Those sensors are much cheaper than Toyota’s quote. I shouldn’t be surprised tho. Thanks for the info buckrub71

Buy your extended warranty with Jennifer Taylor from GoWolverineToyota.com. A bunch of people from this forum bought from her like me and we are extremely satisfied. It's a lot cheaper too. For a 7-year warranty, it costs $680-$1275, all depending on the mileage. Search the forum for "Jennifer Taylor" and see what people are saying.
