NO LONGER HAVE A TUNDRA... Waiting
Looking at the product details page , it appears (at least for Android) that this is almost like a tablet / phone module with a jazzed up UI. the app selector/ UI language selector pretty much looks like a typical Android OS menu system.

Oh HELL no! That is a lot of additional stuff to be stuffing up in there when you can buy a new head unit that has Apple Play built in. That will be the path I take

Pretty sure that's only for vehicles that are equipped with carplay...

I think just about any non cheap head unit now has apple CarPlay or the android version (forgot what it’s called). Unless you mean oem, then it’s 2020+ for the tundra.

Or check the links earlier in this thread for another option.

All the ones I’m finding that have been recommended have been discontinued. Anyone know any newer HU that they’ve bought or heard is good?

I am looking at a pioneer....
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/looking-for-knowledge-pioneer-dmh-2660nex.84452/

I am still skulking through the forums to see what goes into this installation. I believe we have to also install the Maestro unit to retain steering wheel controls.

There’s also a Kenwood unit, but folks seem to keep steering me to the Pioneer.

it looks like probably $4-500 all in for a plug and play DIY.

Appreciate it! I’ve been trying to find some of these threads. I can’t decide what to do. Ultimately, I might just go to a shop. Worried that I will screw something up. Lol. Any idea how you know what size screen you need?

Where you browse products (Amazon, EBay, Best Buy, crutchfield, etc...) they will normally have a vehicle selector to verify compatibility.

Some of the newer ones have a floating screen (like in an Audi, or some of the other newer cars) so you’re not limited to factory dash specs.

Here is a couple I have found. My question is, do I have to buy anymore parts or is this everything? That is where I am a noob at.

You’ll probably have to get the iDatalink Maestro adapter with any aftermarket head unit.
I’ve heard great things about Crutchfields customer support. They will certainly set you up with what you need for compatibility.
