    Power Generation-

Operations- shift work, work 5.5 months a year, Bismarck State College has online courses. Average wage is 33-54.00 for non-management positions/night shift differential. Goes up from there. I have lost personnel because 43.00 hour wasn't enough. We hire off the street and train, or have some other experience through the military (Navy Nuke or some other branch with power generation)

Electrician- apprenticeship or journeyman card holder. 42.00 plus.

    I&C- apprenticeship or journeyman/school. 45.00 plus.

Mechanic- apprenticeship or journeyman/school. 40.00 plus. If you have or get boiler code welding certification, that is even more money per hour plus an opportunity to make more money in outages.

Planners- They manage outages, day to day preventative maintenance work orders..etc 80-105k

Maintenance/Operations Superintendent- manage personnel in their divisions. 140k plus

Plant Managers- manage overall plant operations and personnel. Engineering degree and experience needed.
    150k plus.

    Other jobs:
Mech/Electrical Engineers, equipment operators, chemists, environmental techs, transmission system operator, Marketing (electric and gas).....

We have several Power Plant Operators on this site.

Sorry Ron. I haven't paid into social security in over 15 years.

    On a side,
I like what I do now, HD is a great company to work for, much better than what I came out of.

About 4 weeks ago they sent one of the corporate jets, a falcon 900, to fly to me Atlanta as part of a award I was nominated and chosen for, It was awesome, from the jet to dinner with the CEO and senior leaders, to spending a day and half at corporate offices, not many companies will recognize their employees like that and I was and am honored by it.

Reading all these posts from engineers and hi-end professionals makes me feel humbled. All I do is drive around and watch people work and get the stuff they need to do it like tools, equipment, traffic control, and permits and stuff.

I am a CPA and small business advisor with a small firm. Essentially I do tax returns, financial statements, and help small business owners run their business from a financial, strategic, and legal standpoint.

I currently am saving up for a tundra. I currently drive a modded corolla. I wrote service for a Toyota dealer for 5 years while in college before changing my career.

A little of this and a little of that.
I used to be in outside sales for a Fortune 100 company until I had major surgery on my low back (Fusion). After that my back only got worse, forcing me into retirement at 34 because of disability. I used to be a gym rat :muscleflexing: like @Sean266 (he's a stud, BTW) before surgery. I would wake up a 4 am to get my workout in before heading to work around 7. I'd workout for about 2-2.5 hours. That was back in the day when Gold's Gym was the place to be. Now they've sold out and I cannot even step into a gym :pout:.
