Any pre-installation advice before I add my camper shell?

I’m sure that’s true. But Offroading is subjective. I know lots of people who Offroad their trucks. I know people who Offroad Subaru’s and 2wd trucks. People Offroad stock tundras... a lot. I’m sure my offroading is different than yours, I had a shell, and got rid of it for a reason.

Exactly. My tundra is far from stock and I've taken it out beyond the mall too. See build thread. I'm sure my off roading is different too like everyone else. To make a blanket statement to not use a topper if you go off road is a bit much. Not sure how you could know what kind of off roading I've been doing since 1971 by the way. Yes common sense comes into play. If you run fast and get some air from time to time then captain obvious kicks in when it comes to using a topper. Toppers can be removed quite easily and I will remove mine if it's the prudent thing to do. The best statement to use is toppers can do just fine in many cases off road. Know your
    limits and your trucks limits.

I’ll stand by it. You can wheel just fine in many cases with a stock 4x4 but I wouldn’t recommend that either. And from your build thread, I think our ideas of hard offroading are fairly different, which is fine... but my statement comes from my experience.

I'll stand by it too...I don't recall your post mentioning "hard" off roading which is relative of course unless it's strictly going fast on the flats of Mohave which is fine. I don't have 48 years of my off roading adventures in Kali, Oregon, Nevada, Alaska, North Carolina, Japan, and the Philippines posted on my build thread. I know nothing about your "experience" and won't pretend to. I stand by my experiences of which you know nothing...LOL:boink::cheers: It's best not to paint with broad strokes unless you are painting a barn.......
