New to the forum, I have a 2014 Tundra 4wd. Just got it serviced a week or so ago and everything was normal. All my gauges show nothing out of the ordinary. I noticed a white chalky residue under my driver side fender. Didn’t know if anyone knew what it could be. It wipes right off and it’s not dirt.

Almost looks like spilled washer fluid or coolant that has evaporated. That or salt. Just my thoughts based on the pic, take with a grain of salt.

Battery acid corrosion? On that metal skid plate looks like it ate through it

It does look like that, completely understand why y’all would say that but I have washed it and it comes back. No leaks under the truck besides a/c and no build up in fender wells as to what it look like being on a job site

I thought that could be it but I’ve never seen a battery leak nor what it would like

Now that you say that I looked that battery again and saw signs it’s most likely leaking. Saw some wet residue on the plate the battery sits on as well as build up around it. I guess the first check looking for corrosion on top of the battery wasn’t thorough enough

I’ve never seen a battery leak but it seems like y’all are most likely right. Just swapped from a Dmax to this tundra after dropping 12k in the duramax. I guess the loss of money has fried my mechanic abilities and made me ignore obvious signs.
