has anyone with a 2013 tundra with Entune had issues trying to use any of the Entune apps? I have an iPhone, it pairs fine to the Bluetooth, and playing music/phone calls work fine. It will read and receive texts like it should. But.. as soon as I go into apps, the apps all pop up on the screen, I choose iheartradio or slacker and it will work ok for like exactly one minute. Then it will lock up, the song info will no longer change with the song, it won't show pictures, and will pop up with "connection error" every couple of mins. You can go back to the app home screen, can do anything or you will get the connection error message after it shows the loading wheel. I called toyota this morning, spoke with an Entune rep, they said that in order to use the Entune apps with iPhones you have to connect them to the USB port... I did that and it works fine, but that sucks. It's not supposed to be like that, and it works fine over Bluetooth in my wife's 2014 Camry. Just wondering if anyone else has similar issues?

It all depends on the Entune software version and the Phone software version. Each Toyota model and stereo model has different compatibility levels with different features. I know in several cases the iPhone has to be plugged in for all of the features to work. I don't have this issue (Android) but I have to check compatibility for customers on a regular basis.

So how do I check comparability? I have an iPhone 7 on iOS 10.1.1

Try this. It hasn't been updated since December of '15 but it should be reasonably accurate.

So it looks like most of the newer iPhones all have question marks for entune app suite compatibility for the NAV/Entune HUs in the 12/13 Tundras... fucking dumb - most of the newer androids all have question marks too. So it sounds like, at least with apple, their Bluetooth security is not working with entune apps and accessing the internet.

I'm curious who else uses a newer iPhone with these trucks and has everything working perfectly...

Software version is commonly an issue. Apple will update the iPhone software and they will drop out of compatibility because of it. Keep in mind, this chart is almost a year old. The Entune software will update automatically from your phone into the head unit when a new version is available. Toyota has issues keeping up with the Apple updates and all the different software versions across all platforms. I have a Note 5 and my wife has a S6 Edge. Both work fine in our '16 Sienna.

And both of our iPhones work fine with my wife's 14 Camry - shit just freezes up and is useless when in my truck. Only thing that works is pandora...

If you're only doing audio, I've found that they usually work fine. If you're doing audio THROUGH Entune, it can suck. I would suggest just closing the Entune app and using your phone to control audio. I'm pretty sure the next and pause controls still work through the truck, you just don't get the screen art. Pandora, Spotify, etc

    Corey,
I didn't get a book with mine, but I don't seem to have the Entune capability at all. Is this something that wasn't offered in the 2013 Platinums, or because it's got the JBL?

Can you send me a picture of the face? Do you have an 'Apps' button?

    Edit: Radio faceplate

It doesn't look like it is equipped with Entune. It should have an Apps button. It looks like it was available in the Tundra starting in 2012 but yours might be special because of JBL. At least you have navigation?

Just wanted to slap in a quick update - I had my entune login put on both my wife's and my phones, she has entune in her Camry and I have it in my truck. I thought just for fucks sake I would make her a separate login, and logged her in on her phone.

Happy to report that everything has since been working perfectly in my entune. No communication errors, no locking up, and all of the entune apps appear to be fully functioning. I'll keep an eye on it, but it seems like it's fixed now...
