I don't know yet how to search for posted articles but has anyone ran into a problem removing the rear seat in the new crewmax. Besides the front and rear mounting bolts I have found a center bolt coming from the bottom up threading into the seat. I want to remove the seats temporarily to install a storage system beneath.

It should just be the front and rear mounting bolts. There is an alignment tab that may be giving you some trouble? Remove the bolts and rock the seat forwards or backwards to loosen the alignment tab. The whole seat will pull up and out. Make sure you are careful to keep track of the one bolt with different threads. Also, the alignment tab has been known to puncture the carpet/ floor mats so an extra pair of hands is extremely helpful.

Also, just an FYI. There is a small magnifying glass icon in the top right corner of the page. That’s your “search” function. You can search for individual posts or thread titles. It’s actually super helpful!

Welcome from NC! Just an FYI depending on the storage item. If you are using the ESP storage container there is no need to remove the seats.

Was looking at the esp, didn’t know you can do it with seats in! Doesn’t the storage unit bolt in to the seat bolts?

Hey! The ESP does not bolt to anything. You use fabric crayon to draw the outline from the box it ships in, then a sharp knife to cut it up. I am not a DIYer at all, my wife was skeptical as hell I was cutting up a 3 month old truck..but it all worked out! I love the ESP standard storage I bought a year ago. There is no increase in road noise whatsoever.

And yeah, I removed the back bench seat when I got my Wet Okole seat covers in. Then bench removed easily when all the bolts on the top were removed. I did not see anything coming up from the bottom threading in. This is a 17 SR5 CM I have. When you pull the screws, get two cups, b/c they aren't the same size! I have one screw that I could never get back down all the way, so it's sticking up, but figure it will be OK with all the other bolts being good.

If he got the locking metal esp box, it DOES require removal of the seats, and like someone else said, remember which bolt was the different one, it will make your life much easier.

In addtion to that, you can get a good search return on multiple words if you use the pipe command between them.
Toyota|camry|hybrid would give you returns on Toyota Camry Hybrid. It allows you to narrow the search to those three words inclusive if I remember correctly.

I just ordered a set of Wet Okole seat covers for my 19 Tundra, were they hard to put in? How did you get the seat backs off to secure them around those?

I installed Katzkin leather back in June.

Remove the head rests. Hinge the seats up. Remove the 6 prominent bolts that are holding the seat frames to the floor. You’ll also need to remove the bolt holding the center shoulder belt to the floor. Leave the seats folded and lift them out carefully. Install is the reverse, and there are locator pins on the floor brackets to help you position the seats back in the truck.
