I installed a Kenwood HU in my daughters 4Runner and had to put the new mic on the pillar at the top. Seems to be a good place for it. It wasn't long enough to reach the rear view mirror, unless spliced. I was going to stick out to the mirror channel.

Here's a pic of the mic install spot in mine.

Also I had to reconfig the Maestro to get some settings the way I wanted.... turns out it has to have zero power running to it to reflash it. So either disconnect the power harness from the Maestro unit... or supposedly you can pull the radio fuse... or even the battery. Either way is probably easier than dealing with this mess.

Here's my Maestro settings. I could only get the left side of the steering wheel buttons to configure. All mine on the right side remain with stock functionality.

I had the same problem. I guess it’s not that big of a deal that might right side doesn’t work. But only my left side works.

I’ll take a pic of my mic in a minute, but I think I might have to move it...

Also, I plugged the USB into the grey port (for android) instead of the black port (for Apple), so now I gotta pull it back out of the dash. :anonymous:

You can't use the mic that's built in the truck?

Not that I’m aware of... there’s no adapter to make the OEM one work. Kind of dumb...

Buttons on right side remain with stock functionality and controls the screen on the dash. Buttons of left side of wheel are highly configurable with Maestro options.

I have the DMX 905s and I had the same issue with the fuel gauge on my SR5 double cab so I just chose a different gauge for that spot.....actually when I first installed mine I was having issues with the distance to empty showing on the truck gauge as well but that corrected itself.

I originally mounted mine to the black part of the windshield behind and above the RVM but I was constantly having to take it off BT because people couldn’t hear me. So I moved it to this location and was a massive improvement, no issues since.

Got it! DO you have a front mounted camera? If so how well does it work?

Yep... had one mounted above the Toyota badge on the grill. Cam and head unit work great together. But I had to tweak the settings as mine thought it was a rear cam at first.

I had to clip a white jumper wire on the camera harness to make it forward facing. The Audiovox one I have comes set up as a rear cam. Cut the jumper and reset the power.... then the mirror image and parking lines go away and it's a front cam.

I have the DMX7706S amd my fuel % won't read or the tpms in each tire won't show...
Called crutchfield and trouble shot everything, didn't work. They recommended calling maestro...but all of my other gauges work and are reading data from the truck

Looks like actual tire pressure value only works on 2018+ models. Can anyone with earlier year confirm otherwise? This is the only feature along with steering wheel control that's making me wanting to spend the $100 to add the Maestro RR.

If you swapped in a non SR steering wheel with audio controls, are the earlier model SR prewired for it?

I have individual tire pressure when I put in my KENWOOD and maestro on my 2016 Platinum. Lots of other members also.

Did your Platinum display this in the center dash from factory? This will definitely determine if it's a programming/wiring issue or
    it's per trim level.

Mine psi displays both via OEM and on the Kenwood, and they don’t match.

The tundra tire pressure became a monitoring system but I'm not sure what year or trim level did they start switching over from the originally warning system. My 14 is only a warning system and does not display anything about the tire pressure in the dash display so I'm not sure if the maestro will be able to pull the data.
Im pretty sure 18+ with the updated gauges will definitely work since you guys already have it on the dash. I guess it'll be a mystery for us owners with the warning system. I think the maestro is much like an obd2 scanner with the Torque pro app. If you cant get a specific data on the app, more than likely it will not be available with the Maestro.

I installed this unit last weekend and it's been awesome so far, other than it rebooting twice while running Waze over wireless AA. It's rebooted twice and only in that scenario. I haven't tried Waze with it wired yet. Just curious if others have experienced any reboots like this. I'll have plenty of drive time to test this out over Thanksgiving to see if it's a Waze thing, a wireless AA thing, or what.

Mine has not rebooted but my GPS seems off. Was working fine. Now thinks it’s about 200’ to the left. Not sure if that’s from my phone or the unit GPS.

Anyone have any issues adding a security code on their DMX906S? Based on the instructions, all you have to do is take it off Demo mode and it should appear in the menu settings. I have even tried standby mode, but no luck.

Question for those with the Kenwood HU...I just installed the DMX906S with the Maestro RR unit. So far works really good - wireless CarPlay seems to be pretty solid. However, at night the screen is very bright and I have found no way to dim it. I read the manual and have played with the Display settings and only see the option to manually turn on/off the Screen Dimming, or Sync it with the headlight switch controller (the wiring diagram shows a conenction from the headlight switch position - but that doesn't seem to work for me).

I am going to play with the viewing angle settings but wanted to ask if anyone has issues with the display screen being too bright at night.

    Thanks!

There's a way to do it. I had trouble finding it myself but finally got it. I don't recall the exact place off hand, but I'll check the truck and update when possible.

I figured it out - there is a backlight setting when you press rhe menu button, then the screen adjust option. Not perfect but it helps.

it isn’t cover in the manual however!
