    Hello All,

I have tried to do a little bit of searching to see if anyone has done this before but had no luck finding anything on this. I have a 2013 Crewmax with a back up camera that appears on my rear view mirror. I am looking into a aftermarket head unit for my truck and I want to get one that I could possibly have my back up camera appear on the unit not just the rear view mirror. Does anyone have any experience with this or know someone who has successfully done this mod?

Yeah, I have a Kenwood Headunit that I routed an OEM camera to. My headunit has the RCA jack input for the camera, and I also had to tie into the reverse light circuit on the reverse light. I recently replaced the tailgate handle and camera because the original OEM camera cord was a composite video cord, which won't easily mate with an RCA jack. I made sure to buy one with an RCA cord because I knew the Kenwood required an RCA input. I'm sure some headunits have composite video input that mates with the OEM camera, it just that mine didn't.

I know this is an old thread but also in the same predicament. Seems like all the harnesses sold are for the jbl units that display the backup cam on the head unit which makes sense because it would have a plug for the headunit. Did you happen to find a solution that doesn't involve replacing the oem camera? If not, how involved is replacing the oem camera?
