What’s up guys! I recently purchased my new to me 2015 DC limited TRD OR tundra back in June. I purchased the truck in Des Moines Iowa and had it shipped to me in Albuquerque New Mexico. I am coming from a 2005 DCLB Tacoma but I felt I was lacking power and sleep space in the bed. Here is some pictures of my Tacoma build.

She will be missed dearly but the Tundra BASECAMP will fulfill our needs better. Here she is when the shipping company delivered her! That was the longest week of my life waiting on my new ride to be delivered.

I decided on the DC because I plan on sleeping in the bed of the truck so I wanted the legroom. I don’t carry many passengers other than my girlfriend, so backseat space wasn’t much of a concern and we discussed that this was slightly larger than the Tacoma’s rear backseat so it was a win win.

My initaial plan was to sleep ikn the bed of the truck but I decided to build a 6x12 trailer into a camper and have since put truck camper on the back burner.

Of course a shake down lake trip was due and I was really excited to pull the jet ski to see how it was. It was 100x better than the Tacoma. I knew I would really wouldn’t notice it was there but when I pulled the ski with the Tacoma I could tell! So I was a happy camper the whole way to the lake!

Next up we were to excited to test out the extra leg room so we did a quick overnight trip to the Jemez mountains. We just threw a full-size air mattress in the back and it fit perfect between the wheel wells. Truck was awesome! Just need to get a platform rack on the shell to carry the SUP and kayak.

First order of business was something I didn’t even know existed with tundras...... that damn blinding chrome cup holder shroud! So I decided to use some scrap 3M gloss carbon vinyl wrap I had laying around and wrapped it.

Next up was the battle on chrome. I actually like the OEM limited grill but the chrome... wasn’t cutting it. So I decided since I will be wrapping the whole truck either way I should just get the grill out of the way. I had some
Avery Dennison matte black laying around and wrapped the grill shroud and hood bulge.713AAE03-CE79-4D09-87B6-BDA4A495F768.jpg

When shopping for my next truck I swore to myself that I would have a remote start for the winter mornings and after a long day snowboarding. @james@tech12volts had a group buy so I pulled trigger. I was so damn nervous tearing apart the dash and messing with wires... But the install was so painless I probably could have installed it blindfolded. If your on the fence about this mod. DO IT. Wiring can’t be any easier and James is a stand up guy that has earned my business for years to come. 310D1268-B3C3-48A6-8765-1678D52111C2.jpg

Next up was tint. Working graveyard shift I’m nearly nocturnal. So I decided to let my buddy who I trained to tint years ago install some ceramic film on BASECAMP.

Welp just ordered the SCS ray 10s in matte jet black. I can’t wait to get all the parts installed. Just dropped off the kings and ridge grapplers at my storage unit until the wheels get here. 65494D7D-2F05-442F-8BA5-300A50FF8DC1.jpg

Thank you! I can’t wait to get these mods installed.

Yeah man it was a bitter sweet to let the Tacoma go but the Tundra has been awesome so far and has performed great.

Headed down to the lake for a final weekend trip. Truck doesn’t even notice that it’s there. The damn jet ski battery died of course when I wanted to burn off all the old gas:annoyed: and have some fun on the water.

These Cabelas molded floor mats have blown away my weather techs by a mile. These actually came with the truck and I didn’t think I was going to like them. When I installed the weather techs I didn’t like the feel or fitment. So I went back to these.

Really sweet looking setup. Those Ray 10's are great looking wheels.

Any thoughts on those Kings yet?

The Kings are great. It rides like a truck should and it is smooth. The best way I can describe it is it’s like the truck is more confident in and off-road. The tires are very quite I was worried that they would be loud but I have yet to notice any difference.

    Awesome on the Kings.

Yeah I'm driving on Ridge Grapplers also and it has been an outstanding tire for me so far. Quiet and great traction. 10,000 miles on them and they still look new.

I haven’t updated in a minute. Sorry for the MIA action. I have been slammed with work and multiple life events. Back on track with the build for the new year. I will be wrapping the truck in the spring when it warms up. I think I will be doing a satin hope green. I want to get a Decked system in the bed so I can get my sleeping system in place. Then I’d like to do roof racks and a 270* awning for the lake.

I have been very happy with the initial set of mods. The tires have been preforming well in rain/snow. The Kings have been riding phenomenal, I have no complaints with my purchase. Oh and I have been taking advantage of some winter mountain therapy!
