I have had the bullydog programmer installed for about 14 months and no issues so far. Now to answer your questions,

    1. I would say yes, I believe it only geos to the 2014 models as of now. It gives you Premium, Economy, Trail, Towing, and stock tunes. you can also select Performance or stock shift points, Speed limiter, and adjust the throttle. You can only select 3 at a time (without internet) I you want to start fresh you will need to re-download the files from bullydog's Update app for windows.

    2. The performance will be greater if you have aftermarket CAI, Exhaust, headers. So it would be better to have performance mods added.

    3. It can also calibrate the speedometer for bigger tires.

I have not had any issues using it. the minor annoyance is it needs a battery charger to maintain 12.1V at all times while it is flashing if it falls below it could cause issues, I don't know as I never experienced this. The shifting feels better especially when under heavy throttle. I believe they got an extra 70hp out of the TRD supercharger. I also replaced my stock Entune system (speakers and all) with an Joying Android Headunit and lost the ability to change settings via the settings menu on the stock radio. The Bullydog tuner allow those setting to be changed and some that I have not seen on the radio. You can also turn off all the nannies with a couple button presses instead of pressing about 3 seconds and repeat that 2x more it will be reset when the truck is turned off. You can also get performance logs, tests 0-60, 1/4 etc, economy testing I never used these but they are there, monitor the transmission temp and the center display doesn't do so yet.

You are recommended to run premium gasoline. I waited until I was near empty to fill up with premium, I noticed that it would stutter when pushed to near max RPM's when going from a stopped position or even while driving but after a few fill-ups it went away.

Depending on your needs it can be an all-in-one setup. tuner, performance testing, access to settings, speedo calibration, monitor oil temp, coolant, trans.

A little of this and a little of that.
@bsavoir Approx how many HP's could one get by replacing the headers, exhaust and CAI with the Bullydog?

Ive never got a dyno done, I want to just to see how much of the HP/TQ these company's boast. But I have seen some other tundra forums have people who posted some of their dyno sheets above 400hp w/out forced induction. The long tube headers provide a better jump in hp over short tube but is illegal in some states like my state.

Love these claims. Don't you think that if Toyota could simply take a laptop and re-program the ECM and get 2-5 more mpg out of their truck they would have already done that stock?

    Don't drink the cool-aid.

When you buy that tuner you might as well get the electric turbo they list as well. It will probably net you + 5 MPGs and a lot of extra HP.

Seriously, your co-worker has to be full of BS, there isn't a tuner in this world that gives you and additional 5 MPGs.

    Hello,
I am new to this forum and to Tundras. I just bought an 2007 Tundra limited crew max. I’m looking for recommendations to help increase the performance and the gas mileage as much as one can in a Tundra. This isn’t an every day driver for me but will be used for hauling and highway travel to our cabin/camping. I’ve looked into the S&B CAI and have been checking out some tuners. My truck has the towing package on it. With that said, I’d like to hear people’s insight to what would need to be done for the performance and mpg increase. The truck as of now is stock.

I installed a DAP tune on my 2007 about 2 years ago, I am very happy with the results.

Power is great definitely notice a difference on premium tune. Mpg went down because of my heavy foot lol. If you dont beat on it you will get better mpg i saw 0.5 to 1 on average.

Only way to create an appreciable fuel consumption improvement is via small, light tires and wheels.
Exhaust won’t do much for mileage, nor will any intakes (yuck) or tuners.

If you see an HONEST 1 mpg improvement with a tuner and exhaust, consider yourself lucky.
Our trucks are great for a lot of things, but mileage just ain’t one of them…

I have a fairly light foot for the most part. 5.29’s, heavy 34” LR-E tires, HP Tuner that was dialed in on a dyno, run 89 octane, corrected speedometer, and get 14 mpg. 15 if I’m really nice.

About 2 mpg less than 100% stock with light tires…

    Too many, but not enough....
Keith's exhaust will give you some mpg. I noticed a solid and consistent 1 mpg after. @dirtydeeds
