    Looking to buy a Tundra
I’m interested in making my first ever Tundra purchase and have so many questions. I’ve been a devote Chevy Silverado owner for more than 20 years. I’ve just seemed to loose all faith in the brand, support, and product overall.
I know I want the Tundra because of the V-8 option alone. But need some serious objective views as far as purchasing new or used, I want a crew cab, and 4X4 is a must. So by all means educate me please!!!
My thanks in advance to any and all help, suggestions, ideas, and comments in general!!!
    Thanks, George

New vs. Used in my opinion....

Fortunately our trucks hold their value, but unfortunately when shopping for a certified used, the prices are so high, for just a little bit more you can get brand new.

I planned on buying a friend's gently used Rock Warrior. He decided to keep it so I found a used 13' with low miles for about the same price. Went to the dealer to get a price on brand new and ended up with a new 14'. I couldn't justify not spending the extra little bit.

I have 3 car seats in the back so the big room of the crew max is a must. I have a trailer big enough for anything that can't fit in the short bed. I can count on one hand the amount of times I needed it. For me, the crewmax was the best pick, but that depends on your needs.

I went with an SR5 with the TRD Off Road package. At the time I was already spending more than I wanted, the TRD Pro didn't exist at that time. If I could do it over I would have went with a Platinum for the leather and sunroof.

    I still love it though!

Welcome! These trucks hold their resale value. I was actually able to purchase mine new compared to one that was 1 or 2 years old due to the financing percentage, price off MSRP and the additional add ons when I purchased such as window tint, tri fold cover and bed extender to name just a few.

I considered Chevy, Ford, Ram and GMC 1500s and solely went with the Tundra based on quality, reliability and strong resale value!

    Welcome from northern Maryland :hattip:

Same scenario here - went to look at used
16’ tundra SR5 ended up buying new stripdown 18’ SR Tundra for same price after rebates etc.

    Good luck

Loved my chevys. My 2000 was a tank. Just didn’t tow my trailer well enough. It did it. But...

    Can’t afford a new truck. Just can’t.

Found a 2010 for under 16k last month with 100k on the clock. Frame was perfect (not replaced) with minimal and acceptance surface rust.

    It’s a tank.

    2010 DC 5.7 TRD SR5

Plenty of room in the back for the little ones. More room in the bed for when going camping and have coolers and bikes, ez up...etc

    Love my 2010

I added tow mirrors and remote start. Plus a few other things. It’s bad ass and town my 7000 lb trailer with ease. Doesn’t break a sweat.

this time of year should be a great time to get a deal on a new 2019, I got the limited just because of the dual zone climate control, we go on 1200 mile trip one or two times a year and me and the wife like our tempatures on completely different settings.

    Hey there from Virginia!:mudding:

So many choices! I personally have never bought a new truck because of the depreciation when you drive it off the lot. That being said, Toyotas hold their resale value so well, and last for so long, that my next truck might be new. I have a Crewmax and love it, though mine has admittedly been heavily modified. But that's the great thing. Even if you might not be able to find that perfect Tundra, you can make it perfect! Happy hunting! Everyone on this forum is here to help! Well, except for maybe a few ornery bastards. :D
