Hi all... I did a search and found some info, but nothing directly comparing these two options. If I missed it, sorry in advance.

I put some 5100s on the front end and want to go up about an inch in the rear. I think I've decided on using shackles. I'm torn between the ToyTec and the Coachbuilder shackles. I like the look of the Coachbuilder, but I've seen several threads about rubbing issues with the spare. Is one of these better or more widely used? Am I splitting hairs here?

Both are quality shackles and you really can't go wrong with either. I went with the ToyTech shackles since they gave me the option of two different settings. I am currently at the 1" setting and when I lift the front again I can raise the back to the 1.5" setting without having to purchase another set. Also, the TT are thinner than the CB so I am able to fit my 35" spare under the bed.

$199 for Toytec and $295 or $320 for coach builder.

Hhmmm.... that almost seems to be a no brainer then. Especially if your going to run a 35 spare under the truck.

    Thanks.
The CB shackles are offered as a kit with one option being the carrier bearing drop spacer. Is this needed at 1" of lift in the rear? I can't imagine needing that for that amount of lift.

I went with toytech for the added clearence for my spare. Also, toytech shackles are steel vs CBs which are billet aluminum i believe.

Both are well designed and reliable. Great quality. just up to you.

I went with the Coachbuilder, look into changing the bushing that goes through the frame.

Both Toytec and Coachbuilder shackles are very nice. I went with Toytec for the adjustability but will probably never need to adjust them.

Coach builder said the bushing in the frame is polyurethane already and good to go. The bushing you want to change is the one in the leaf eyelet.

Right, sorry I just remember pressing them out. But you’re absolutely right, it’s the spring.

I have cb. Great service and definitely quality product. With that said they’re a little too thick for oversized spare. It can be done. But more room and easier with toytec.

Toytec, but it's best to change the spring bushings to keep them from squeaking. Use the Poly ones from Toytec.

Turn the bolt around and you can fit 35" tire.
If you need a bigger tire than a 35 learn how to use reverse. lol
