I'd get my wife to help. She's 5'2 and a 140lb Filipino. You have to figure out ways like using jacks or an A frame, etc and pull the truck forward. It's not a willy nilly job. Just depends on your time and ability. I want a small patch fixed on my rear fender that needs just a touch up with filler and painted. I'm not going to do it myself. Nor will I have it repaired...probably. Estimate is $350. Originally, when I got the truck, the fender had gotten whopped by what seems to me as a tire tread slung up into the wheel well an tweaked it. I have it now to the point that no one would notice except me. I could do it but realize the learning curve and hours of putzing around with the task to make it perfect.

Well, I did start a frame-off on a 65 Buick Special; had to replace floor and trunk pans.

I could probably lift the bed off, just not sure how to raise it up.

Still trying to figure out how to lift it off the frame. I cannot do it overhead, my garage ceiling is too low. Would have to be jacked up from the floor, and maybe roll the truck out once it's up in the air.
    Any ideas?

Getting it back into shape will not be a problem, it's getting the bed off the frame that is my big problem.

My father came up with a great way to lift engines out of a car in his garage. He got a 4x4 wooden post and used rope to tie each end to the rafters. Sonce th rafters couldn't hold much weight he then made two 4x4 posts with plywood on one end to make a cradle. They were cut to a length that slightly pushed up on the 4x4 cross post. They easily handled the weight of an engine. You could do two sets of them and use the tie down hoops inside the bed to raise it. The rafters just kept it steady. I don't have any pictures but I'm sure I could find something to show you better if you aren't sure what I'm talking about.

Well, I'm thinking of trying to pull it back with a come-along. Need to figure out some way to secure the hooks to it first.

Not sure if I should pull from the tiedowns, which would tend to pull down. Or, pull from the corners of top bed openings (not sure what those square openings are called).
