I installed the interior LED kit from Fyre Flys and love it. I have some LED reverse lights on the way from a different company via Amazon. Since ordering, I've read several reviews (not as much on the ones I ordered) where people have had blown fuses/circuits/bulbs/etc. after installing LEDs. Anyone have experience with these issues or any advice? Starting to second guess my purchase as I do not want to spend a weekend diagnosing blown fuses or worse. I verified it is the correct bulb number, etc. Thanks in advance.

I recently had an issue with some Sirius led reverse bulbs for my 2012. Got them on Amazon, too. I also read issues on here but decided to give theses a try because they state they are canbus error free.

SiriusLED Backup Reverse Light Canbus error free LED Bulb Size 921 Super Bright 3030 SMD Xenon White 6000k Pack of 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D9DFWGM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_WR-BDbXWKJD0R

I didn’t post a thread or bitch about it on here because I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. Flukes happen.

I did have one pop and blew the fuse for the backup lights.
When mine happened I was backing up into my driveway with all lights on, the e-brake on and my other foot on the brake pedal (I was super close to the other car). The passenger side light popped and out went the other side and my Oe rear view camera. Fuse was blown.
I replaced the fuse and put the halogen bulb back in the passenger side. Amazon sent me a replacement bulb and it’s been in there for about 4-5 days. No other issues.
I think I simply had a voltage spike due to all lights being on and the truck struggling to move back because the brakes were on. Again, I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt but will report back here if I have any more issues.

@Scuba Good info. Thank you. Anyone else have any issues after a full switchover?

    That is strange!

It may be a quality issue, as we have seen our fair share of Amazon LEDs and have replicated issues like this in our shop. Hopefully you have good luck with them! :)

I replaced all of the bulbs in both front and rear and my turn signals are acting as though I have a bulb out. I've checked all and they are working as they should. The truck has another opinion. Any suggestions are appreciated?

From what I understand you have to add a resistor to slow down the flashing

Do you have Resistors wired into the truck? You need one per bulb, wired to the Ground wire and the Indicator wire. :)

Some have claimed that LEDs or certain ones interfered with their remote starts. Thinking either the dooms or cargo lights had to be changed.

Any blown fuses I had were from installing the bulbs, grounding to reflector. That doesn't mean that a bad Bulb/LED would not blow a fuse.

Have had my Amazon ones for 3 weeks already and have not had a single issue. Love how well they illuminate the rear when backing up.

You need to add resistors to each bulb you replace on the turn signals in order to get rid of the hyper flashing.

    Function before sparkle.
If the LED doesn't light up at all it's not a resistor problem, it's a power problem. Resistor problems cause fast flashing. Assuming you tested the LED bulb, it works and the following wiring strangeness for the FRONT applies:

Take a close look at the OEM bulb. It's dual filament right? The bulb has four contact points. I'm going to also assume that your LED only has two contact points (not four).

Put the OEM bulb back in and watch closely which filament lights up when the signal is flashing. Follow the filament and see which contact points are powering up the bulb. Is it the outer two or inner two? It seems that Toyota the vast majority of time powers the bulb through the outer two. But occasionally it's the inner two.

Look at your LED bulb. Do the pins line up with the inner two or outer two? If it's wrong, don't try to slide the pins sideways. Instead very carefully fold them back over the to the other side of the bulb at an angle.

    Plug in and enjoy.

Good info but I’m willing to bet he’s saying he has hyper flash after installing LED’s not that they’re not coming on.

My kit from Fire Flys came with the reverse lights. Are you having a problem with them?? Mine are great.

Just to follow up on my initial post, installed the reverse lights and no issues so far 2 weeks later. They were pretty much easier to swap out than some of the interior lights. LOL.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in.
