Hi everyone. I'm a new Tundra owner and thought I would do the initial post thing. I actually find myself in a strange place. I thought after doing months of research that I would be doing this post on the Tacoma forum. The journey to this truck actually started in 2010 when I totaled my 2005 Jeep Wrangler. I loved that vehicle. But, I had some decisions to make and I was going through a career change so I opted not to buy a new vehicle and instead took the cash from insurance and bought a used 2005 Toyota Camry with 87k miles on it. It was a great car and served it's purpose well. It just hit 295k miles and I just received a promotion at work so I thought it was time to let the old car go. Enter my dream truck, the Tacoma TRD Pro. I absolutely loved everything about the truck. So, this past Friday I drove down to the Toyota dealership to take a test drive. I was so let down. The truck I had spent so much time dreaming about didn't live up to my expectations. I knew all the normal things like the cabin size, lack of seat adjustment options and questionable shift with the transmission. I'm 5'5" so none of the first two bothered me. The transmission did bother me. I felt like I was driving my wife's RAV 4. I disdain the RAV 4s driving experience. Additionally, the Tacoma cabin noise was extremely loud. That's not what I wanted from a truck I was about to drop 44k on. I asked to drive a Tundra just to see if I liked it. Again, I'm a small guy so a large truck wasn't even on my mind. Man was I impressed! I loved the v8 and the space. I was hooked. I just had to decide what trim level. I went in pre-authorized to buy anything I wanted but l wanted stay within reason. I didn't need the Pro or the Platinum. The limited would've been nice but I didn't like the color they had. I settled with the one I test drove. The 2019 SR5 TRD Off Road in Super White. I love it. The only thing I think I regret is having cloth as opposed to leather. But all in all I love it. So, if you made it this far, thanks for reading my post.

Hello from SoCal! Is that the Camry next to your Tundra? Those things last forever, you have to go drive it off a cliff to make it stop. Someone else is driving it now and getting good use from it. As for the leather, it's nice but the cloth seats are comfy and if they are anything like the cloth in my 2002 SR5 Tundra, they will last decades as long as they are not abused. And you can always upgrade it with 3rd party leather and choose what you want. Nice truck, you are right about the color. White is fastest. :D

Yes, that's the Camry. Thought it was a cool moment so I snapped it. Live the white. I couldn't be happier.
