Paging doctor zoidberg, doctor John f$&#ing zoidberg. Passenger side is almost done. Welding up the lower arm tonight, checking clearance on everything and hopefully welding the limit strap and upper arm. After that I'm just putting it all back together with lots of anti seize and torque check(viz torque). Kinda wishing I had new oem ball joints but that will be another week or so. Lots to pay for this month with registration up, a couple flights planned, etc.

Maybe it's the angle but can your control arm fit and swing up? Clearance looks really tight on the left side.

I have not used my fog lights in 2 years, ever since I did a retrofit I didnt have the need. I turned them on over the weekend and saw one bulb was out, figured I'll try something different since I'll only have the original front bumper for one more year.

You'll have to post some pictures and I'll post my amber amb to compare. Mine are really just for looks. They don't light up much on the road.

I'll be whipping out the touch up pen tonight. I'm starting to regret these K02's. The tread is designed in such a way that they trap a ton of gravel and small rocks. Once I get back on pavement they and putting a real hurt on my truck. I'm not sure that anything can be done but I slightly wish I had gone with the STT Pro's.

To be clear, I don't baby this 17 year old truck but you should hear how many "kachunks" and "pings" I'm getting. It's gnarly.

My dad had the same issue with the previous iteration BFG A/T's he had on his 4runner 10 years ago, and our work trucks running K02 were also the same. Honestly, it's a big reason I went for the ST Maxx. Second reason was that I never found KO2's to clear the sticky dirt and mud we have here very well.

Oh well, guess you get to try a new tire in a few years! :D

For sure. I doubt these will be visible when my headlights are on, if so that's impressive.

Part of why I got them is on Friday night I got in my truck to pick somebody up from the airport and my headlights didnt come on. I spent ten minutes hastily troubleshooting, swapped a fuse that didnt look bad and wiggled connections until they came on. At least if I have fogs and my headlights go out my truck will still be visible to others on the road.

Awesome tire but that is the reason I have switched to Duratrac’s. The BFG’s only downfall in my opinion..

@KarmaKannon pretty much what I expected. They warm up the spectrum close to my bumper but they get overpowered by my HID quickly. They do throw a bit of light wide to the sides, lights up sidewalks. They will serve what I needed though and I like the way they look. I bet they would make more of an appearance if I had stock headlights. These are a bit more amber than the bright yellow I expected.

Cool factor shot. My driveway has a grade so it makes my cutoff look crooked and my aim on the door looks much higher than it is.

Dude same with these Cooper ATP's. They seal coated my neighborhood about a year ago and it seems like either we were the last street and they had 50 yards too much or someone dumped when they shouldn't have. 2-3 times a week its loud enough to actually startle me, especially since I've taken the mudflaps off.

EBay for me. It's not an exact match but I don't think that's possible with 17 year old paint. This type is my favorite. It has a scraper for rust and clear coat applicator too.

I got the kit from retrofit source and did it myself. Took about 12 hours total spread over 3 days. I can't remember the cost, I want to say around $350 and worth every penny.

Does that include the headlight housings/lenses or did you reuse the stock ones?
I just ordered more headlight assemblies the other day. But now I'm wondering if I should pay a buddy of mine to do a retrofit. I already have the "ultimate headlight upgrade" (95/100w bulbs and an upgraded harness)

No housings, I used my own and baked them open. Painted the inside and projector shrouds black, installed without lenses to clock the projectors and then took them off to bake the lenses back on. It isn't hard at all but you have to be careful not to get butyl on the lenses and to not mess up the clicking when tightening the projectors. The rest is cake.

I couldn't do it. I know I've spent more than 12 hours on 1 control arm with design and welding, but I just couldn't do that headlight stuff. Hopefully leds work alright for me. I've been planning those for a few months now

It's not a job for everyone but if not painting the shrouds black it could be done in about 4 hours. Part of the trouble is you need night time to get the aim right when clicking the projectors.

Scored a used pioneer touch screen today from a local TW members for $100 including the Toyota wiring harness

    https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVH-4000NEX

Looks like it was a hell of a score. He was upgrading to the newest Pioneer and said he wanted to offer it to a local for a bargain before going on Craiglist for more momey.

Looks like the install is super easy. I found a video on YouTube how to remove the radio bezel. So much less work than a first gen taco radio lol
Ill install tomorrow maybe. Then look into ordering a back up camera. Debating on whether to mess with a bypass or not.
