Hi everyone, I'm looking for a Tundra for a ranch truck. Don't know anything about them or pickups in general, so I I joined to read more. I've learned that the Tundra is the most reliable truck, and therefore I'm paying a premium for quality and reliability.

I'll probably tow a car or motorcycle with it here and there, but its main purpose will be to take care of the property.

I work on foreign cars, so I think I can work on a truck too. I was reading through the 2nd gen forum and saw there's some expensive or annoying to work on common fixes like the starter and the transmission.

I haven't read through the 1st Gen forum yet but my thoughts are those years might need less major repairs? My biggest concern with the older truck would be finding parts for it for the next 10+ years. I was thinking a 2nd gen might have more available parts now and in the future.

All thoughts welcome. Looking forward to being a part of the forum!

Welcome from NC! Just keep an eye on rust on the earlier models, specifically the frames.
