This was brand new installed yesterday but it was in 90’s and noticed this bubbles like an hour after the install.

I installed it myself. I bought it off a guy online, but it was new in the box. I know it has something to do with the heat, because at night the bubble seems to settle a bit. I wonder if poking a hole in it will let the pressure out like a vent?

I would try contact manufacturer see if they will fix it, if not maybe a tiny hole inject some glue in it and try pressing it back flat

Don't make any alterations to it until you contact the manufacturer. Is that a water stain also? Any chance it wasn't actually new?

I had just washed it, so it was still a little wet. It was definitely brand new and never installed when I took it out of the box and there were no bubbles when I was installing it. It definitely has something to do with how hot it was. While installing it, the temperature was in the 90’s and looking at it this morning while it is much cooler, the bubble is definitely less pronounced.
It’s like a little section where the two bubbles are must not have had enough glue or adhesive and the heat expanded an air pocket inside.
I suppose I could try the dealer and see what they say, but since I bought it from a private party, I doubt they’ll be any help.
They sell them for $1200 or so from the dealer, and I paid much less. I guess it’s still worth it.

It's worth a shot. If that was my product and that happened at all after any amount of time (while well taken care of) or ownership I would at least hear you out. If nothing else or if they turn you down, ask them for some advice on what to do with it.

I know this post is a little dated. I also just bought a factory Toyota hard tri-fold tonneau for my 2020 Tundra trd pro. Bought from Toyota and installed my self. It also bubbles in direct sunlight from the start. It is not installation related. Has anyone got some resolution to this issue or is it the nature of the beast.

E5630A69-9254-45E5-9E28-5ACA0B41ED2D.jpg I just created an account because my new cover is doing the exact same thing. It’s about a week old and is the second one since the first one did it after a couple weeks. I just counted 9 bubbles in all three panels. They came from 2 dealers several states apart. Don’t kill me, but mine is for my Honda Ridgeline but the covers appear to be made by the same manufacturer.
I’m on vacation in Florida and the sun is pretty intense. The surface of the cover is hot to the touch.

[IMG] @ Roadman222 Yah it looks very similar. Seems to me it's pretty much the nature of the beast. Lots of people seem to have warrantied it only to have the same problems. The hotter it is the more it bubbles but does seem to settle down some after the sun goes down. Acts like the glue is softening in the sun then expansion creates the bubbles. Not sure who makes these for Toyota but I'm not impressed. Should have spent the same money on a quality aftermarket soft cover. Unfortunately Canadian winters are brutal on the soft ones. This picture was taken at 50 F.

This is all pretty disappointing, wish I'd seen this thread before I agreed to let them put one on. No issues yet, but it's been in covered parking for the couple days I've had it.
