.rar file is a type of zip file. If your windows cannot open it, download WinRAR (just google it). Inside the .rar is a folder with the IMG file. I'm going to try and update my screen right now actually.

Mine wouldn't even update. Was about to post the same pic you just did. Mine already says 3.3. Oh well =/

For the volume issue: One work around is using bluetooth audio with phone instead of using the on-device music. This way you can turn your phone bluetooth volume down to half or so and get a lot more spacing between the volume ticks on the device.

For the noise issue, still there.

Has anyone tried mirroring their iPhone to the screen? I don’t have hotspot with my unlimited data plan so Netflix and other streaming apps on my phone would probably have to be mirrored... or if my Iphone is connected via usb does it pull my data off my phone for apps off the actual unit?

It's a third of the price and probably offers more features. The only question to me is reliability, but a lot of members here have had it for some time without issues. Unlike the Tesla crowd, I see issues daily on their Facebook group.

I think I just had an epiphany.
Does anyone without feedback or interference have center speakers in their dash??
I've seen in numerous threads that the likely cause of the noises are from the screen interfering somehow. It just dawned on me to check my rear speakers and there's no noise coming from them. And to think about it, I only hear the squeaking sound out of the center speaker in the dash. And it makes sense as it's DIRECTLY behind the screen.
When I get a chance tomorrow I'm going to disconnect the center dash speaker and if all goes well it should fix my problem. I've read that a center channel in a dash is entirely unnecessary you get better sound separation anyway without it.

I'm very curious in the outcome of this as I have an older 08 model but it does also have the jbl with the center speaker.

I have the center speaker in mine and I do not have a wine at all.

*Except for one single time when I remote started my truck, got in but did not press the brake pedal and just sat there.
I think the head unit was or was trying to connect to my Bluetooth and then to my hot spot. As soon as I pressed the brake pedal the hiss/whine stopped and all was as usual from there.

Iris said there should be a setting in the Control Settings App but I dont see anything in there.

I thought it could be the wireless door lock but I was unable to toggle that on.

It would just beep but the toggle would not move.

So the results are in. The noise in my case is coming from the left and rt dash speakers. I'm not getting any noise from the center. Not even from music or movies. So I'm guessing this unit just doesn't play sound at all from the center dash speaker in my case. I've tried adding ferrite beads to the individual wires on the lt and rt dash speakers and I've even tried copper tape around the wires at the speakers, none of this has fixed the issue. For right now I have both the lt and rt dash speakers removed, and will probably replace them with some better quality speakers. May not fix the issue, but I will be upgrading all my speakers in the future, just gonna start with the dash for now.

Yeah the noise is probably coming from the head unit. I just tore my dash back apart to make some upgrades:

    1. Grounding wire to the side of head unit. This didn't help the noise issue, and also I noticed the head unit is already grounded through the back screw terminals. Not ideal, but they work.
    2. Mounted the carplay adapter behind the dash. Didn't see a reason to have the dongle hanging out front.
    3. Added two USB ports for additional media (movies and such).

I think I'm good for now. The noise isn't noticeable when I have music or movies on. I'd say the volume level issue is worse.

The only other "issue" I haven't resolved is tying the aux audio cable in. I'd could just spice into the back of the aux connector and plug into the RCAs, but I didn't want to cut into any stock wiring right away. I never use the aux audio port... it's just one of those things that will bother me until it's done right.

Here's the three connectors that were left over from a 2010 CM JBL install. I think the red/black wired one is probably auxiliary input... but I haven't dug deep enough into it and my multi-meter probes were too fat to pin it out. Not sure about the other wired one.

Then there's the blue one. Looks like an optical connection, any ideas?

    Thanks

With the dash speakers disconnected the noise is gone? How does the stereo sound without the dash speakers?

Well, that's where I'm at now.
I had planned to just leave them disconnected. But the sound was off like it was missing something. So I called crutchfield to order some 3 1/2" speakers to replace them. The guy I talked to was a huge help. He told me the front speakers in the dash are tweeters and the door speakers are only mids. So it made sense I wasn't getting any highs with the dash speakers removed. He recommended I replace the door speakers with 2 way speakers instead of replacing the tweeters as it may still have the same interference problem. So I went with some jl audio 6.5" speakers for the door. I can't wait to get them installed. He said I can leave the tweeters out but the wiring going to them has both an input and output as the door and dash speaker are the same channel. So I'd need to cut the harness and connect the input to the output wires in the dash to get the highs to the door speakers.

I need a pic of the stock head unit settings screen where the door lock/unlock chime settings are for Iris. Can anyone help?

Not an issue for me and thanks to the forums for directions. With no experience and the help of you all I have a great system with wireless CarPlay. Also, have no extra noise with the 10.2 rotatable head unit. Now to figure out how to mount front camera on the platinum grill.

I tried to hook up the external screen via hdmi for the back seat. Having sound issues , if the 2nd screen is on, the volume adjustment will go from 0 to 30 with one press. No issue if 2nd screen is off

Can you give a link for the rotatable one you ordered? Did it come with built in carplay or did you have to have the dongle? Thanks!

One more quick question, did you have to tell them that you had a Tundra so they would send the correct wiring harness? Thanks again.

Look like two pages back. I have pictures of mine installed in a 2010 CM w/ JBL. Also, I mounted my carplay adapter behind the dash, so it doesn't show. I just plug into the stock USB port for carplay.

Edit: That's not the same one I installed, sorry. However, I bet you can still mount the carplay adapter internal to the dash with that unit.
