Got a buddy who recently purchased a 2017 CM. He had it custom built so it had the bench seat in the front but does not have the flex fuel engine (apparently that combo is not standard). Anywho, Toyota wouldn't build it with a 38 gallon gas tank, only the 22 (or whatever it is). Anyone know how difficult/expensive it is to upgrade to a 38 gallon tank? Wondering if it's even worth it. Thx!

Just a few, more to come
Just swap in a Transferflow 46 gallon tank!
About $1200 for the tank, and a few hours to install with basic tools and a little mechanical know-how.
I've got one in my 2014 and the range with it is awesome. No problem cruising over 500 miles freeway on a tank(and I'm lifted/on 35's) and towing I can still do around 350 on a tank.

Definitely more cost effective to get the 46 gallon transferflow. When the 16s came out with the 38 gallon tank, a lot of people starting asking about part costs to do the upgrade...not cheap

I would go with the Transferflow 46 gallon tank too. As long as he doesn't live in CA. Not legal in CA yet. Transferflow is still trying to get a CARB tag for that tank but no luck yet. They said it may not happen.

Now that the 38 gallon has been out for ahwile theres bound to be a salvage yard that has one. Will it fit in the 2ng gen? Need to upgrade bad for the offroad/overland rig and the 26 just isnt cutting it getting 10 mpg
